Australian celebrities were among the first in Australia to watch Peter Jackson’s latest epic The Hobbit in Sydney last night. Maude Garrett got into the spirit of the movie by wearing a fitted dress with a map of Middle Earth printed all over it — Danny Clayton was particularly excited to find Mordor on the dress — while Lincoln Lewis played up for the cameras with a model of the iconic ring. Guests at the screening were treated to roving canapés, wine and popcorn served in a box that resembled The Hobbit book — the movie-going crowd was also split into two cinemas, one that screened the film in 3D HFR (48 frames per second) and the other in regular 3D. More names at the event included Stephanie Rice, Sophie Lowe and Todd Lasance. The Hobbit opens in Australia on Boxing Day.
