The grand finale of The Voice is about to get a whole lot bigger with the announcement that Lionel Richie will be performing on Sunday night’s show. The soul and R&B crooner has several ties to the show, most notably through his son-in-law Joel Madden, who is one of the four coaches. The “Hello” singer also served as a mentor to Christina Aguilera on the second series of The Voice US this year. Earlier this year Lionel expressed his concern that Joel and his daughter Nicole Richie were looking to make Australia a more permanent base after Joel fell in love with the country. Lionel said, “Every time I talk to him he can’t stop raving about how great it is in Australia. I love the place too, but I don’t want them to move there. I keep reminding them how far it is for Granddad to travel to see the grandkids.” The winner of The Voice will be announced on Monday. Are you excited to see Lionel on The Voice?
