Miranda Kerr was announced as the new ambassador for the Kids Helpline at a press call at Luna Park in Sydney today. The model, in a printed dress, also posed with children in front of the iconic Luna Park face. Of her new role, Miranda said, “I want every child in Australia to know that there is someone who will listen to them, someone who can talk to them, no matter how big or small the issue. We all have challenging days, we all go through moments in our lives where we do need advice. I really want to encourage the younger generations to believe in themselves.” She was especially keen to get involved as she’s now a mother of one (to 2-year-old Flynn, her son with Orlando Bloom) and has lost a younger cousin to suicide.
Since landing in Australia two weeks ago, Miranda’s had a busy schedule that’s seen her headline the David Jones Autumn/Winter ’13 fashion show, promote her skincare line Kora Organics in Melbourne, visit Kora’s factories and shoot a new campaign for it. She’s also made multiple TV appearances. In preparation for Valentine’s Day, we asked Miranda to describe her perfect date night outfit when we spoke to her backstage at the DJs show, and she said, “Simplicity I think is the key for a date night.”
