Prince Harry teamed up with Walking With The Wounded this morning to announce their 2013 South Pole Challenge. A longtime supporter of the organisation, which aims to retrain and re-educate wounded service-people to help them find employment, Harry had a special announcement to make today — Harry will participate in a race to the South Pole with a team from Walking With The Wounded in November and December this year! Harry's squad will compete against teams from organisations in other counties, including the United States.
In declaring his news, Harry was already getting competitive with the other organisations. He said, "It just remains for me to say to Soldier On Canada, Soldiers to Summits from the US, and Soldier On Australia — welcome to the party. As a member of the British team, I will have a brew ready for you when you join us at the Pole." During the event, Harry was photographed sharing a laugh with blind former soldier Ivan Castro. Harry, a serviceman himself, competed with Walking With The Wounded two years ago when they forayed to the North Pole.
