The X Factor Australia 2013 Top 12 Contestants Here Are the Top 12 Acts on The X Factor 2013! by Jessica Chandra 21/8/13 180 Reactions 7 Shares Print 0 4 3 0 0 After four weeks of auditions, Super Boot Camp and international home visits on The X Factor, the top 12 acts for 2013 have been chosen! Last night’s episode saw the four judges deliver the verdict to their categories — this year Ronan Keating is mentoring the under 24 boys, newcomer Redfoo will guide the under 24 girls, Natalie Bassingthwaighte is taking the groups under her wing, and Dannii Minogue is hoping for a third X Factor victory with the 24 and over category (she’s won twice on the UK version). Some of the decisions were expected — there was no way 14-year-old Jai Waetford wasn’t getting through, and there would have been outrage if 18-year-old Jiordan Tolli had been let go — but there were still plenty of surprises. The live shows kick off this Sunday so click through to see this year’s top 12 and let us know if you think they have what it takes to go all the way. The X Factor airs on Sundays at 6:30 p.m. and Mondays at 7:30 p.m. on Channel Seven. Jiordan Tolli What’s Your Reaction? 0 0 0 0 0 0 Jiordan Tolli Age: 18 Hometown: Melbourne Mentor: Redfoo Jiordan grew up as a child performer who did lots of musical theatre. She's charmed the judges with a voice and maturity beyond her years, and has a penchant for wearing flowers in her hair. Do you think Jiordan has the X factor? 1 / 13 Ellie Lovegrove What’s Your Reaction? 0 0 0 0 0 0 Ellie Lovegrove Age: 18 Hometown: Adelaide Mentor: Redfoo Ellie's father has sadly passed away, but he was a country singer and played a big role in inspiring Ellie's passion for music. She's got a big voice and a big heart (she volunteers for the Aboriginal community), but does she have the X factor? 2 / 13 Joelle What’s Your Reaction? 0 0 0 0 0 0 Joelle Age: 22 Hometown: Sydney Mentor: Redfoo Joelle made it to the home visits round last year as part of a duo, Good Question, but she didn't make it to the live shows. She returned in 2013 as a solo artist but it took her mentor, Redfoo, a long time to warm up to her before deciding she would be in his top three. Does Joelle have the X factor? 3 / 13 Jai Waetford What’s Your Reaction? 0 0 0 0 0 0 Jai Waetford Age: 14 Hometown: Sydney Mentor: Ronan Keating This year's most publicised contestant, Jai, is also the youngest. The 14-year-old from Sydney's Campbelltown blew the judges and audience away with his initial audition, and his mentor Ronan Keating "knows" he's ready for the live shows. Do you think Jai has the X factor? 4 / 13 Taylor Henderson What’s Your Reaction? 0 0 0 0 0 0 Taylor Henderson Age: 19 Hometown: Geelong Mentor: Ronan Keating Taylor is the kind of musician who feels incomplete and vulnerable without his guitar, which was a concern of his mentor Ronan Keating during the home visits stage. He's got a great voice and a sweet nature but needs to work on his confidence. Do you think Taylor has the X factor? 6 / 13 Omar Dean What’s Your Reaction? 0 0 0 0 0 0 Omar Dean Age: 19 Hometown: Melbourne Mentor: Ronan Keating Omar's got the looks and he's got the moves, but he has been criticised for performances that veer on the slightly cheesy side (he gave the "nod" to guest judge Kelly Osbourne a couple of times in the home visit round). Does Omar have the X factor? 6 / 13 Barry Southgate What’s Your Reaction? 0 0 0 0 0 0 Barry Southgate Age: 30 Hometown: Sydney Mentor: Dannii Minogue At 30, Barry is the oldest and most experienced of this year's top 12. He's appeared on talent shows before and even had a small role in The Sapphires, leading his mentor Dannii to ask the big question: why has it been so hard for the good-looking charmer to hit the big time? 2013 could be his year — do you think Barry has the X factor? 7 / 13 Cat Vas What’s Your Reaction? 0 0 0 0 0 0 Cat Vas Age: 27 Hometown: Sydney Mentor: Dannii Minogue Cat's biggest problem is her confidence, which plays a big part in determining whether her performances are just average or hit it out of the park. Do you think Cat has the X factor? 8 / 13 Dami Im What’s Your Reaction? 0 0 0 0 0 0 Dami Im Age: 24 Hometown: Brisbane Mentor: Dannii Minogue This South Korean-born music and piano teacher was a surprise package during her first audition, and she certainly has a powerful voice. She's stumbled with nerves and lyrics before, which her mentor Dannii said showed a bit of her personality, but will it be good enough for the live shows? Do you think Dami has the X factor? 9 / 13 Adira-Belle What’s Your Reaction? 0 0 0 0 0 0 Adira-Belle Ages: Evelyn, 19, Kia, 17, Naomie, 19, and Temy, 17 Hometown: Sydney Mentor: Natalie Bassingthwaighte This sassy four-piece from Sydney comes with big voices (and great harmonies) and hot looks, but when they performed TLC's "Waterfalls" for their mentor, Natalie, and guest judge Guy Sebastian, Guy thought they were a little "dated." Do you think Adira-Belle has the X factor? 11 / 13 JTR What’s Your Reaction? 0 0 0 0 0 0 JTR Ages: John, 23, Tom, 20, and Robin, 19 Hometown: Brisbane Mentor: Natalie Bassingthwaighte These three brothers are from Sweden but live in Brisbane for half the year. They wowed the judges with their rendition of Justin Bieber's "As Long As You Love Me," have great chemistry and harmonies, but do they have the X factor? 11 / 13 Third D3gree What’s Your Reaction? 0 0 0 0 0 0 Third D3gree Ages: Jacinta, 19, Jordan, 18, and Kelebek, 18 Hometown: Sydney, Melbourne and Albury Mentor: Natalie Bassingthwaighte Third D3gree is the only group of the groups put together on the show to make it to the live shows. They're also the first mixed group put together in the show's global history. Mixing three very different voices, styles and personalities is always a risk, but Third D3gree have proven that they're able to work as a trio while also letting each member have their time to shine in the songs. Do Third D3gree have the X factor? 12 / 13 What’s Your Reaction? 0 0 0 0 0 0 The top 12 acts on The X Factor 2013. 13 / 13 0 4 3 0 0 Back to Homepage Comments Read More TVThe X Factor 2013Australian TVReality TvPop PollThe X Factor The X Factor My Day on a Plate: Natalie Bassingthwaighte 1 week ago All the Ways The Voice and The X Factor Are Similar 1 week ago What Surprises Does The X Factor Have in Store This Year? 1 week ago Which Reality TV Show Is Your Favourite? 21/5 We Would Audition For These Reality Shows If We Could 24/4 These Australian Stars Found Fame on Reality TV 23/4 What’s Your Reaction? 0 0 0 0 0 0 0Reactions Margaret14966875 39 weeks ronan and natalie get a grip , it is obvious that you two are trying to get darmii off so yours can get through.ho obvious can one ge.Play fair.I am beginning not to like you too for being so nasty.
