Three is a crowd, and Matt Damon prefers it that way. At the July 11 “Oppenheimer” world premiere in Paris, the 52-year-old actor arrived on the red carpet with three of his four daughters. He smiled alongside 12-year-old Stella, 14-year-old Gia, and 24-year-old Alexia. His 17-year-old daughter, Isabella, who Damon also shares with wife Luciana Damon, was the only child not in attendance at the premiere.

Since Damon’s daughters tend to stay out of the spotlight, this family outing marks a somewhat rare joint red carpet appearance. Back in March, however, some of the girls did accompany Damon to the “Air” premiere. But as Damon told Seth Meyers on “Late Night” back in April, they still find plenty of ways to keep him humble. “My 16-year-old likes to give me a hard time. She is very clear about not wanting to see anything that I’m in if she thinks it might be good,” he joked, potentially explaining her absence from this most recent premiere. “If I get bad reviews in something, that’s the one she wants to see.” Alexia also supported Damon at the 2021 premiere of “Stillwater,” and she even appeared with him in the film “We Bought a Zoo.”

While he might not take them to every red carpet, as his own tribute to his daughters, Damon got a tattoo featuring their names on his right shoulder in 2019. Fatherhood is hard to sum up in words, but Damon previously used Dr. Seuss’s “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” to help. “When his heart grows five sizes, that’s what [becoming a father] felt like,” he said on the “Today” show in 2012. “It was like everything expanded in a way that I didn’t know was possible.”
