Christina Aguilera Is OTW to Australia After 15 Years, But Why Now?

American music powerhouse and “Burlesque” actress, Christina Aguilera is set to touch down in Australia very soon. Spotted at Los Angeles Airport (LAX) this morning — the singer was seen in a brown leather-look trench donning a Menulog style purse, stepping out of a black SUV. This will be her first trip Down Under is almost two decades and many fans might be wondering. — why now?

Besides her partnership with ANZ meal delivery app, Menulog, Christina Aguilera returns to Australia for an exclusive headline show in Melbourne. The one night only performance will be at the inagural Flemington Racecourse on November 25.

“I’m so excited to come back to Australia and perform after 15 years. See you all soon!” the “Candyman” performer said in a press statement before getting onto her flight at LAX.

Her concert boasts a line up of local favourites including Australia’s very own, Jessica Mauboy, Natalie Bassingthwaighte and M8RIARCHY. The multi-Grammy award winner’s show is part of Melbourne’s 10 17-day Always Live festival.

When the announcement of her return went live back in late August, fans were quick to point out that the date of Aguilera’s one night only show also marks the date of her album “Stripped”‘s 20th anniversary. Show attendees can expect an evening full of her greatest hits.

In a recent TikTok video, Christina Aguilera is seen gushing about the Australian audience. She recalls how her Aussie fans were hyped like “no other”. The “Lady Marmalade” singer is expecting the same energy at her upcoming show.
