Ice Spice’s Debut Met Gala Gown Has Cutouts From Head to Toe

After a meteoric debut on the music charts, Ice Spice made an iconic appearance at the Met Gala, too. The rapper attended her first-ever Met Gala red carpet on Monday night – reportedly by invitation from Anna Wintour herself – in a sparkling white Balmain gown that featured a train silhouette and sequin embellishments all throughout. Sheer, body-contouring cutouts adorned the floor-length dress, which highlighted her curves all while elevating her look with a more sultry flair. She also capped off her sophisticated ensemble with a glitzy Effy Ring and Archive Diamond Earrings to match.

Marissa Pelly styled the rapper for the affair and has been the creative force behind a number of Ice Spice’s showstopping outfits this season. Ice Spice swapped her signature orange curly locks for a glossy, slicked-back hairstyle that shined beneath the carpet’s beaming lights, and she went with a minimal beauty look – complete with light-pink nails, peach-colored lips, and a sharp cat eye.

Unlike some of the other skin-baring ensembles seen throughout the evening, the rapper opted for a more conservative silhouette that felt enchanting without being underwhelming. In true Ice Spice fashion, she also managed to make the red carpet her own by forgoing the need for a handbag or clutch and carrying around a bedazzled camera accessory instead – fitting, because who wouldn’t want to capture every moment of their first Met Gala? (Also, perhaps a nod to the trending social media joke that she never puts down her purse.)
