Chris Colfer isn’t going to see his former “Glee” costar Lea Michele in “Funny Girl.” On Oct. 11, Colfer, who played Kurt on the hit Fox series, appeared on “The Michelle Collins Show” on Sirius XM’s Radio Andy, where he asked Collins if she was seeing “Funny Girl” after she mentioned she would be seeing a Broadway show.

Collins laughed and said she was. “Oh, my day suddenly just got so full,” Colfer said. Collins explained that since she saw Beanie Feldstein in the production already, she wanted to see Michele, too. “I saw ‘Six’ last night, and that was amazing,” Colfer countered.

“So, you’re not seeing [“Funny Girl”] is my guess, while you’re in town?” Collins asked. Colfer replied, “No, I can be triggered at home.” The conversation moved on from there.

Back in 2020, “Glee” actor Samantha Ware alleged that Michele engaged in toxic behavior and abuse on the set of the long-running show. Actors Alex Newell and Amber Riley responded with supportive memes at the time. Michele later apologized in an Instagram post, saying, “While I don’t remember ever making this specific statement and I have never judged others by their background or color of their skin, that’s not really the point, what matters is that I clearly acted in ways which hurt other people.” Michele also addressed the issue in an interview with The New York Times last month. “I have an edge to me,” she said. “I work really hard. I leave no room for mistakes. That level of perfectionism, or that pressure of perfectionism, left me with a lot of blind spots.”

Other “Glee” cast members have also spoken out about Michele. Heather Morris spoke out in a 2021 interview, saying in part, “It was something that was very hush-hush on set.” She added, “We absolutely could have stepped up and gone to the Fox execs and said how we felt about the situation, but no one did.”

Michele began her run in “Funny Girl” this September, replacing Feldstein, who first starred as Fanny Brice in the revival.
