How Long Did Liz Hurley Date Hugh Grant?
Liz Hurley and Hugh Grant were one of the most iconic celebrity couples of the 1990s. The British actors first started dating in 1987 and remained together for 13 years.

“There was a big premiere and someone told us — we knew nothing then, me and Elizabeth, about how you sort of cope with those things — someone said: ‘Oh you can borrow things from top designers.’
“Poor Elizabeth rang some top designers and they all said: ‘No, who are you?’ or ‘No, we’re not lending you anything.’
“Then Versace said: ‘Yes, we’ll lend you a dress’, and they just sent one round which is that one with the safety pins.”
The dress quickly became one of the most iconic looks of the 1990s and helped to solidify Hurley’s status as a fashion icon. It also cemented Versace’s reputation as a fashion house that wasn’t afraid to take risks and push boundaries. Goes to show that taking a risk on someone unknown, can really pay off.
In the years since, the dress has remained a cultural touchstone, with countless fashion fans and critics hailing it as one of the most iconic red carpet looks of all time. In fact, the dress is so famous that it even has its own Wikipedia page.
Their relationship wasn’t without its ups and downs, however. In 1995, Grant made headlines when he was arrested for soliciting prostitution in Los Angeles. The scandal rocked their relationship, but Hurley ultimately stood by Grant, and the two remained together for several more years before going their separate ways.
Despite their breakup in 2000, Hurley and Grant have remained on good terms and continue to support each other to this day. In fact, Grant has even referred to Hurley as his “absolute best friend”. Both have spoken publicly about their continued friendship and mutual respect, and it’s clear that the bond they formed during their relationship has lasted well beyond its end.
