Britney Spears is sending love to her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, for their birthdays. On Sept. 13, the “Hold Me Closer” singer shared a sweet tribute in their honour. “Happy birthday Preston and Jayden 🎉🎈!!! Love you both so much 🥰 !!! These photos are from last year !!!” she captioned the post, which features two throwback photos of Spears and her kids. Jayden’s 16th birthday was Sept. 12, while Preston turned 17 on Sept. 14.
Earlier this month, Jayden gave an interview to ITV, in which he discussed his and Preston’s estranged relationships with their mother and her years-long conservatorship, which came to an end last year. Specifically, the teen spoke about his mother’s social media presence since that time. “It’s almost as if she has to post something on Instagram to get attention,” he said. “This has gone on for years and years and years. There’s a high chance this is never really gonna stop.”
Jayden also said he’s currently living with his father, Spears’s ex Kevin Federline, and that it’s been a “safe place to process the emotional trauma” he and Preston have been through. Jayden then sent a message to Spears, saying, “I love you a lot. I hope for the best for you. Maybe one day we can sit down like this and talk again.”
Spears previously addressed Jayden’s interview in a now-deleted Instagram post. “All I know is my love for my children is more than anything and I’m sorry if I ever hurt you guys in any way,” she said. “I’m so blessed to even call you mine.”
