How You Can Help Ukraine Right Now By Playing Cute Games

Hundreds of indie game developers and publishers have banded together to create a bundle of 991 games, tabletop RPGs, books and more, with all proceeds going to charity to help the people of Ukraine. The Bundle for Ukraine will evenly split its proceeds between the International Medical Corps, who provide medical assistance in the region, and Voices of Children, a Ukranian organisation that supports children who have experienced war.

The bundle’s organisers, Necrosoft Games, have said:

“The people of Ukraine are under attack. As game developers we want to create new worlds, not to destroy the one we have. That’s why we’ve banded together to present this charity bundle to help Ukrainians survive this ordeal and thrive after the war ends. This cause has resonated with creators around the globe, to the extent that our bundle contains almost 1,000 games, tabletop RPGs, books, etc. Over 700 creators have joined in support to donate their work.”

There are some real gems in the bundle, too, like Sundered, the chaotic hand­-drawn metroidvania game that you can play with up to three friends; SkateBIRD, the game that lets you fight burnout with “the power of being a chill little skateboarding bird”; and Backbone, a post-noir narrative adventure where you play as a grizzled PI — who’s also a raccoon.

Also included in the Bundle for Ukraine is SUPERHOT, the critically acclaimed FPS puzzle game; Celeste, a narrative adventure game with beautiful pixel art; and Jotun: Valhalla Edition, a hand-drawn action-exploration game set in Norse mythology.

The selection of tabletop RPGs is also excellent, including Thirsty Sword Lesbians and Sweaters by Hedgehog, about a cute little hedgehog running a sweater business in a small village and recording your most interesting customers.
