There are plenty of stars who have spoken out to support gay rights, but for some, the issue hits closer to home. In the September issue of Seventeen, Chloë Grace Moretz shares some of the challenges her gay brothers faced when they were younger. Like Chloë, several celebrities, including Adam Levine, Anne Hathaway and Colin Farrell, have shared personal stories about their gay, lesbian and transgender family members. Take a look at some of the Hollywood stars who have publicly shared their support for LGBT loved ones.
Johnny Depp recently debuted his new short hair while doing press for The Lone Ranger, ditching the long strands we've come to associate with the actor. This is hardly the first time Johnny has chopped off his locks, and there are quite a few fans out there who prefer him with a more clean-cut look. Click through to sound off on Johnny's new look, as well as the strands of Hollywood's hottest men.
The 12th annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball on Saturday in LA brought out plenty of stars in support of the organisation's cause. Rebecca Gayheart acted as co-chair for the event, which raised funds to help homeless and low-income individuals find employment, and she had her husband Eric Dane on hand for support. New Girl's Max Greenfield acted as the evening's host while Colin Farrell, Chris Pine and Ali Larter watched in the audience. It was an especially big night for Cory Monteith and Lea Michele though, since it was Cory's return to the red carpet following his stint in rehab that ended in April. He and Lea have been out and about since then, catching a Canucks game and even taking a holiday to Mexico in May, but the event marked his first official public appearance.
Celebrities got into the US Memorial Day spirit when they stopped by producer Joel Silver's annual Memorial Day Malibu beach party yesterday. Guests included Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson, Gwen Stefani and her family, Sean Penn, Kate Beckinsale and Tobey Maguire, who was back in family mode after wrapping up a whirlwind world press tour for The Great Gatsby. The group partied at Joel's Malibu home, which included a giant inflatable slide that was set up right on the beach to keep the kids entertained. Joel's annual party has become a major event for Hollywood's biggest celebrities — past guests have included Selena Gomez, Courteney Cox and Tom Cruise.

An animated movie about a girl who gets magically shrunk down and embarks on an adventure in the forest sounds like a rollicking good time, but the trailer for Epic is more serious than you may imagine. Amanda Seyfried voices Mary Katherine, the daughter of a scientist, who ventures out into the forest during a storm only to realise that she's been magically miniaturised. Now surrounded by foreign creatures, she meets a sassy slug (Aziz Ansari) and an army of leaf soldiers. Soon, she becomes immersed in an attempt to rescue the forest from destruction at the hands of Mandrake (Christoph Waltz).
It may be a family film, but putting Snow Patrol in this trailer brings an introspective — dare I say emotional? — vibe to Epic. I laughed out loud at Ansari's line, and I'm looking forward to hearing the many, many voices included on the roster — Josh Hutcherson, Colin Farrell, Jason Sudeikis, Beyoncé Knowles, Steven Tyler and Pitbull are all lending their pipes to the movie. The movie is set for a June 13 release, and you can watch the trailer after the jump.
Kate Beckinsale, Colin Farrell and Jessica Biel teamed up for the London premiere of Total Recall last night. The ladies changed into their white-carpet finest after a busy day of hopping around the city doing press. Kate and Jess were a study in contrasts — Kate went for a long, black Donna Karan and Jess picked short, white Giambattista Valli. Kate's husband, Len Wiseman, was also on hand for the event. Jessica and Kate have become quite a premiere duo. They have their posing act down, having also taken the film to screenings in Dublin, Berlin and LA. The picture debuted in the US earlier this month, but failed to make a big splash at the box office. The stars are hoping for more success overseas — Total Recall is released in Australia on Aug. 23.
Jessica Biel and Kate Beckinsale dressed up for last night's premiere of Total Recall (out Aug. 23) in Berlin. They each donned floor-length gowns for the German debut, with Kate in a light design from Naeem Khan and Jessica working a back-baring Elie Saab. It seems the cast didn't stick around afterward — Jessica tweeted a picture of a jet right after the event with the caption, "Auf wiedersehen, Berlin!" Kate, Jessica and their leading man Colin Farrell kicked things off in the morning with a photo call.
Colin Farrell, Jessica Biel and Kate Beckinsale were in Berlin yesterday for a morning photo call supporting their movie, Total Recall. Jessica looked well-rested after a weekend getaway in Puerto Rico, where she spent time with her fiancé, Justin Timberlake. JT's on the island working on a movie project of his own, Runner, Runner. At the photo call, Jessica showed a bit of tummy in her printed cut-out dress. Kate, though, went more modest in a purple frock. Kate's able to embark on the press tour with her leading man by her side — Total Recall was directed by Kate's husband, Len Wiseman. The remake of the 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger movie comes out in Australia on Aug. 23.
Jessica Biel, in Christian Dior Couture, and Kate Beckinsale, in reptilian Armani Privé, wowed media and fans at the LA premiere of Total Recall today. The black carpet event was held at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, and the action film’s leading ladies looked gorgeous in dramatic gowns. Kate’s husband, Len Wiseman, directed the feature, and joined his wife for some photos. Meanwhile, Colin Farrell brought along a pretty date — his sister Claudine — before posing with his co-stars.
