The Do Something Awards are being held at the Barker Hangar in LA today, and plenty of Hollywood stars known for their charitable sides have brought their A-list power to the event. Cute couples made their way down the blue carpet, such as Glee’s Lea Michele and Cory Monteith, who both received honours, and colourful Hit and Run duo Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard. Twilight ladies Ashley Greene and Nikki Reed were out in force, Sophia Bush and Olivia Munn opted for electric shades, while the guys of New Girl, Max Greenfield, Jake Johnson and Lamorne Morris, posed together ahead of their MC duties. Flo Rida and fun. are providing musical entertainment. The show is underway so click through to see the arrivals!
It was a star-studded red carpet at Tuesday night's premiere of Hit and Run (out Sep. 6) at Regal Cinemas in LA. Dax Shepard, who wrote and directed the film, arrived in style with his leading lady, and fiancée, Kristen Bell, by his side. Kristen rocked a black satin jumpsuit, while co-star Bradley Cooper sported a sexy leather jacket. The stars all took time to sign autographs for fans who were lining the streets before joining castmates Jason Bateman, Michael Rosenbaum, Tom Arnold, Ryan Hansen, and Joy Bryant for group photos. It looked like they had a great time filming since their red carpet reunion was filled with plenty of laughter. We asked the stars how Dax stacked up as a director and Ryan jokingly rated him an 8.5, saying, "He's got some work to do," while Bradley simply said, "He's awesome; he's incredible." Bradley also mentioned he'd love to try his hand at directing soon, too.
Kristen Bell and her fiancé Dax Shepard both matched in sparkly attire at the CMT Music Awards in Nashville today. The petite actress had co-hosting duties with country musician Toby Keith for the awards show, which is voted for by fans and recognises country music videos and television appearances. It was also attended by Carrie Underwood, Ashley Greene, Hayden Panettiere and some of the biggest names in country music. Carrie, in a short sequinned dress, was accompanied by her husband Mike Fisher, while Ashley and Hayden posed solo. Last year’s big winner for video of the year, Taylor Swift, wasn’t there, but she’s still in the headlines since John Mayer has made some comments about her song “Dear John,” which was written about him after their relationship ended in early 2010.
Kristen Bell was the centre of attention yesterday for her Sundance Film Festival Self Magazine and House of Lies event at the Bing Bar. Kristen had her fiancé Dax Shepard along for the bash and the two snuck in sweet kisses between her interviews. She kept her feet warm in furry red boots, and kept things colourful with her yellow knit. We chatted with Kristen about her new Showtime show, being a bad liar in real life, and shooting Big Miracle in snowy conditions not unlike Park City. Kristen also revealed her trick of using pizza leftovers to make breakfast and how she keeps her fitness regime interesting — check out the interview later today on PopSugar Rush.

Nicole Richie and Diane Kruger both went with black, but mixed it up with sheer panels and hot cutouts at the 2011 UNICEF ball at the Beverly Wilshire last week in LA. The past weekend was a big one for Nicole, since she and Joel Madden celebrated their first wedding anniversary. Brooklyn Decker was sporting a glow, fresh from her Bahamas vacation with husband Andy Roddick last weekend. The model-turned-actress is also looking gorgeous in the first trailer for What to Expect When You're Expecting. Diane Kruger had her own tropical vacation recently: she spent Thanksgiving lounging in retro bikinis alongside hot boyfriend Joshua Jackson.
Celebrities who do their bit to give back to the community were recognised for their work at the VH1 Do Something Awards held at the Hollywood Palladium in LA today. The event airs on VH1 in the US on Thursday, and some of the recipients of the winged sneaker trophies include Justin Bieber, David Beckham, Will Ferrell and Olivia Wilde. Glee’s Jane Lynch returned to host the show for a second year, which is great prep for her Emmys hosting gig in September. The star-studded presenters included Kristen Bell, Jon Cryer, Olivia Munn, David Spade, Nick Cannon, Adam Lambert and Zachary Levi, while performers who rocked the stage were Demi Lovato, OneRepublic (featuring B.o.B) and Foster the People.
Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis looked dapper in their suits for the world premiere of The Hangover Part II in LA today. In the movie their characters look worse for wear a lot of the time so their scrubbed-up appearances were a very welcome change! They were joined by co-stars Justin Bartha, Ken Jeong and Mike Tyson, while Jamie Chung, who plays Ed’s fiancée, added some glamour to the red carpet. Kristen Bell looked lovely in a two-tone dress and gave a kiss to the drug-dealing monkey in the movie, while other stars who turned up for the comedy include Robert Downey Jr., mother-to-be Alyssa Milano, Sean Combs and Yvonne Strahovski.
It wasn’t just about the Fox Upfront today — the Hilton Hotel in New York City played host to NBC’s presentation, which included stars such as Tina Fey, Elle Macpherson and Christina Aguilera. Returning shows like Parenthood and 30 Rock were well-represented while new shows got their time to shine — some of the ones we’re hoping come to Aussie screens include Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea starring Laura Prepon and based on Chelsea Handler’s book, and Smash, which is supposed to be NBC’s answer to Fox’s Glee.
Lots of our favourite celebrities were busy tweeting away this week, sharing pics of their family, loved ones, and exotic travels. Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore visited Egypt, and Lauren Conrad goofed around close to home. Dax Shepard made a new friend, while Chelsea Handler and 50 Cent fuelled dating rumours — click through to see all the pics, and don't forget to follow us on Twitter for exciting news and photos!
I'm currently madly in love with Modern Family but I might also give Parenthood a go (the new TV show, not the process that turns your life upside down). The ensemble drama is based on the 1989 movie and has endured a long road of trials and tribulations, mainly due to original star Maura Tierney's illness and subsequent replacement by Lauren Graham. At long last, the show is finally getting its coming out party with tonight's premiere on Channel Seven.
The hourlong pilot introduces you to the four grown Braverman siblings and each of their children, significant others, and issues. Graham plays Sarah, a struggling single mother to two rebelling teens who finds herself having to move back in with her parents in Berkeley, California. Conveniently, the rest of the family also lives there: older brother Adam (Peter Krause), whose son may have Asperger's Syndrome, younger sister Julia (Erika Christensen), a career woman who's worried about bonding with her young daughter, and delightfully immature Crosby (Dax Shepard), whose girlfriend is ready to have a baby, with or without him. There's a lot of ground to cover at first, but the likable characters and mile-a-minute problems are all poised to draw you in. I'll be tuning in for the great cast and excellent writing— will you? To watch a promo, just keep reading.
