How's your social media feeds looking? Better? More stylish? More inspiring? We sure hope so, after giving our top ten follow-lists for Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest! Last but not least on our makeover list is dear ol' Facebook — which is like the grand-daddy of social media streams. If 'liking' isn't usually your thing, we've curated list of the top-ten most stylish, most interesting, least-likely-to-clog-your-feed pages that are worth getting updates from.
Remember when you got Facebook for the first time and it was all about accumulating as many friends as possible and “poking” people? How times have changed. These days, more than one billion people use the social networking site, and heaps of celebrities have jumped on board, with many of them using it to keep fans updated with their projects and personal life. Considering we spend about 16 hours a day on Facebook (OK, that’s a slight exaggeration), it’s a great way to stay connected to pretty much anything you like, so if celebrities are your thing, click through for more than 65 personalities to ‘Like’ — and don’t forget about PopSugar Australia as well! If that’s not enough social media for you, be sure to check out our must-follow lists for Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest, too.
Is it just us, or does there seem to be a trend of beautiful ladies posing bare-faced? We hope it's here to stay, because we sure like it. Miley Cyrus, Lara Bingle and Bar Refaeli all posted pics of themselves without heavy makeup and we think they looked more beautiful than ever — call us corny, but their happiness shines through, no? Lady Gaga debuted a dramatic new look and Miranda Kerr showed that she's more hands-on than we realised when it comes to her skincare range, KORA Organics. It's all in here and more, so click through and check out what your favourite beauties have been up to this week.
This week was big week of change. We farewelled BellaSugar Australia's original editor Sarah (sob) and welcomed her delightful replacement Alison (hi there!). With that came a bit of desk hopping, with FabSugar ed Ali bagging herself a sunnier spot, after all — a change is as good as holiday! PopSugar ed Jess got into the spirit of The Dark Knight Rises, Ali got up close and personal with the impressive entries to the International Woolmark Prize and (as always) we ate our weekly fill of sweet treats. See what else filled our Sugar Diary this week!
You wouldn't normally associate food with beauty, but delicious meals and treats are a big part of being a beauty editor. BellaSugar editor Sarah had lunch with Clinique to launch their new dark circle corrector cream, and came back raving about the dessert. What was it that had her claim "the best dessert I've ever tasted"? A '50s swimming cap-inspired Bombe Alaska! Delicious. Our publisher Marisa also snacked on treats at the Tea Room in Sydney Queen Victoria Building to see Thomas Sabo's Sweet Diamonds collection, we love us a sparkler. PopSugar editor Jess went to the pink carpet premiere of Katy Perry: Part of Me and interviewed the star herself, along with other Australian celebrities including Ricki-Lee Coulter, Sarah De Bono and Emma Birdsall. Two of the girls had their matching leopard umbrellas out to brave Sydney's rain, and associate editor Alison put what felt like liquid gold on her lips... But there's plenty more, so step on in to see a week in the life of a Sugar editor!
FabSugar editor Ali has been a busy little fashion bee with trips to see the Spring/Summer 2013 offerings — she told us many stories about neon shoes and sorbet sunnies! But the busiest editor this week? That'd be Jess on PopSugar. She had interviews with the likes of Johnny Ruffo, and met Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth at the Bondi Junction premiere of Snow White and the Huntsman. So cool. Alison trialled a plethora of products and painted her nails so many times, well, we lost count. Click through to see what else we got up to this week, including office cake for our beautiful account manager Sam, and a candid snap we took of hunky surfer, Kelly Slater (you're welcome).
Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has had a very busy week after making his company public on Friday, then marrying longtime girlfriend Priscilla Chan on Saturday. The ceremony took place in the couple's backyard in Palo Alto, California, in front of less than 100 guests. It was a surprise wedding, the guests thought they were attending the couple's home to celebrate Priscilla's graduation. Fittingly, the news of their marriage was broken when Mark changed his relationship status to "married" on Saturday. The pair met at Harvard and have been together for more than nine years. And the ring? Mark reportedly designed it himself and despite now being worth over $21 billion, it's a "simple ruby". Very sweet. Congrats to the happy couple!
