If there's one thing that Australian designers do well, it's swimwear. The Aussie contingent was hard to ignore at this week's Miami Swim fashion week, with some of the best in the cossie biz sending their new season collections down the runway. We couldn't be on deck (boo), so we asked Lisa Blue designer Lisa Burke to share her backstage happy snaps, and her insider swim secrets.
Biggest swim trends this Summer? Vintage influenced styles are big, like the flattering balconette top and high-cut pant. The denim and lace look is back, fun prints with bright colours, and big gregarious frills are a favourite as well.
Favourite piece in the collection? My favourite piece is the Cover Girl bikini. For poolside glamour, the Enchantress — it is very feminine and sophisticated with a very flattering top.
Most flattering bikini for any figure? Both the balconette and the ruche bikini top do wonders for the bust. Bikini pants that are not too wide will flatter the figure more and make the derriere slimmer. Some girls are under the misconception that a wide pant will hide their bottom but in fact I believe the opposite is true.
