Iconic American designer Cynthia Rowley has partnered with Roxy on the launch of Cynthia Rowley for Roxy, a design collaboration inspired by a shared love of surf, sun and fashion. How exactly did this unlikely partnership come about? Rowley, an avid surfer, was hitting the waves in Montauk and happened to run into Roxy Executive Vice President of Marketing Randy Hild when the idea to work together sparked.
The collection combines functional surfwear with a fashion sensibility designed to be "tossed in a canvas duffle bag for a weekend getaway." Highlights of the range include a neoprene (the rubbery stuff that wetsuits are made from) pencil skirt, oversized, double-knit hoodie, neoprene ballet flats and leather sandals with giant silk tassels. "Our mission at Roxy has always been to have one foot in the surf world and the other foot in the fashion world," says Hild. The Cynthia Rowley for Roxy collection will be available exclusively at David Jones stores in May.
