David LaChapelle is Heading to Melbourne and Sydney and Wants To Shoot YOU with a Nokia N8 Phone!

David LaChapelle Wants To Shoot YOU In Australia!

Famed celebrity snapper David LaChapelle is heading to Australia! You may be familiar with some of his extravagant portraits capturing everyone from Gisele to Eminem, Alexander McQueen and Madonna. This time round he's inviting you — yes, I really do mean YOU, to sit for him in his purpose-built ImagiN8 studio created to include a selection of quintessential Australian backdrops such as birds, flowers and an airbrush painting by artist Erni Vales. This is the first time LaChapelle has ever done a public shoot, and it also happens to be the first time he'll be using a Nokia N8 smartphone to capture it all. Say what?! "Everyone has a cell phone these days and it's cool that the Nokia N8 has a great lens and the clarity of the pictures are excellent. I'm looking to shoot a variety of people who can bring their own character, personality and style. I want to document them in much the same way as people document things with their cellphone cameras." You heard it from the man himself! The public shoots will be held at the Overseas Passenger Terminal in Sydney on Wednesday 20 October and at Queensbridge Square in Melbourne on Saturday 23 October. If you'd like to score yourself a guranteed spot in one of LaChapelle's snaps, head over to the Nokia Australia Facebook fan page where you can enter for a chance to be photographed with a friend at the ImagiN8 studio in Melbourne, flights included. Catch the man himself explain this exciting opportunity in more detail, here.
