We may be getting an Australian-ised version of Fashion Star. The fashion reality show has been a huge hit in the States, thanks to its unique viewer-involvement. Nicole Richie, Jessica Simpson and John Varvatos play judge to a number of designers who compete to get their wares stocked by one of three major fashion retailers. The winning collection is then made available for sale to viewers the very next day after the show airs. Clever, non? The Ten Network signed a deal just last night for the rights to air Fashion Star in Australia, with the prospect of filming a local version. Elle Macpherson, who is both co-producer and host of the show, is "directly involved" in any international incarnations of the show. Ten's head of programming, David Mott, said "We are still assessing US tape version however we do remain very interested in developing a local version and would clearly love Elle to host." Elle in Oz? We would love that, too!
