We will always get swept away in Saint Laurent, and Stella McCartney never fails to get our blood pumping, but there's something about seeing an Australian designer on the international Fashion Week circuit that gets us particularly excited. Ellery presented at Paris Fashion Week today, showing its international Autumn 2014 line (that's Spring 2014 for us in Australia) in a presentation-style format. It's the second time Kym Ellery has taken to Paris Fashion Week, following the collection's debut last October.
Entitled Patientia Vincit Tandem, the Ellery Autumn 2014 collection is opulent and steeped in rich texture. Paisley is re-interpreted into artful prints and fabrics are decadent with graphic leather, silk satin, de-bossed organza and an accent of hand-sewn ivory sequin gauze. And if you remember Lara Bingle's AACTA's dress (how could you forget?), the seriously full-volume bell-sleeves and fluted hems in this line will feel familiar.
