There's one woman we can't take our eyes off this awards season: break-out actress, Lupita Nyong'o. The 12 Years A Slave star is making her red carpet debut at all the major awards shows this month — escorted by a designer line-up that would make any red carpet veteran envious.
Not only did she get chins wagging when she took out Best Supporting Actress at the SAGs over Jennifer Lawrence and Julia Roberts (for the non-film buffs, that's a pretty big deal), she's consistently whipped out amazing outfit after amazing outfit, delivering a kaleidoscope of colours on the red carpet. First, a scarlet off-the-shoulder Ralph Lauren look at the Golden Globes. Next, striking white Calvin Klein cut-outs, and yesterday? A bright Gucci one-of-a-kind turquoise silk crepe column gown with gold and turquoise floral embroidered straps, which, if possible, made the already stunning Lupita even more radiant.
But this isn't the first time we've been impressed with Lupita's look. The rising star first landed on our radar last year while on the premiere trail for 12 Years A Slave, when she first expressed her affinity for the brightest colours by the world's biggest designers. And this is one red-carpet hot streak that shows no signs of slowing, with Lupita nabbing Miu Miu's Spring 2014 campaign alongside seasoned style stars like Elizabeth Olsen and Elle Fanning.
