Yes! Short Girls Can Wear Maxi Skirts and Dresses. Here's How To Master Maxi Lengths This Season

Ask Fab: How To Wear a Maxi When You're Mini in Height

It's Ask Fab time again!

How do petite girls wear maxi skirts/dresses and not look dwarfish! I’m still not convinced they can but peeps like Rachel Bilson and Ashley Olsen are starting to prove otherwise... Help! Sarah, Adelaide.

Have faith yee of little height! Even though the mini is usually the short girl's friend, there is a way to wear a maxi without disappearing under all that fabric. Look for styles that aren't too voluminous; straighter tube skirts or dresses are ideal. Always emphasize your waist. Either pick a waisted style and tuck your top in, or use a belt to cinch. Then be sure to balance the volume down below with a form fitting top. A tight tee gives a beautiful ballerina silhouette (esp. with flats), or try a sexy camisole with heels. Jackets should be cropped (like Rachel's) and excess layers kept to a minimum. Still concerned? Jack yourself up a few inches with a platform wedge. These puppies would work a treat.
