Before Celebrity Apprentice, Scherri-Lee Biggs had never done reality TV, but she’s certainly no stranger to the spotlight.

Biggs, 30, has been in the public eye since 2011, when she was crowned Miss Universe Australia. Later, she represented Oz at the Miss Universe pageant in São Paulo, Brazil, and placed in the top 10.

Born in South Africa, Biggs grew up on a farm in Ballito Bay. At eight, she emigrated to Perth with her family.

Growing up, Biggs was a keen dancer, before she pivoted to modelling at 16 after being scouted by an agency. Balancing her modelling work–which took her interstate and overseas–with uni studies, she also completed a degree in communications studies.

After a few years living in Melbourne, she decided in 2014 that it was time to head home, where she joined the Nine Perth team. Currently, Biggs’ main gig is being the Nine News Perth weather presenter, but she’s done a ton of other media work as well. You may have seen her presenting during the Australian Open, AFL, Spring Racing, or on various travel and lifestyle programs.

Stepping into the Celebrity Apprentice boardroom, Biggs’ chosen charity is Dress For Success Perth.

“This is a charity supporting women who are coming out of domestic violence. Women with vision impairments. Women who are refugees,” Biggs told Channel Nine.

“The whole concept is that they build their confidence up and provide them with the skills to get them back into the workforce,” she said.

Telling WAtoday that she’s “a lady on a mission”, Biggs said that she’s ready to “tackle any twists and turns” and is “focused on raising big bucks for charity.

“Don’t underestimate this Perth gal,” she said. “I don’t want to hear those words, ‘you’re fired’ anytime soon.”
