It's hard to think of a more fitting way to start Fashion Week than with Australian design veteran, Carla Zampatti. The local high fashion hero opened the season with a sultry beat, heating up the MBFWA runway right from the word go — and proving once and for all that the Zampatti woman is a mysterious, sophisticated lady of the night. The show opened with a charge of black dresses and separates that set the grown-up, sultry tone for the collection. But, don't be fooled, while the hems were long and many of the necklines high, this collection was hot. Perfectly-fitted floor-sweeping gowns and flared jumpsuits slashed at the waist, back, or leg took on a sexy finish, while gold hardware and glistening-wet skin made tailored separates equally hot.
