Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Jane Lynch were joined by their Glee cast members to honour Ryan Murphy as he received the PaleyFest Icon Award in LA last night. Lea wore a sheer black Vivienne Tam dress while her boyfriend, Cory, went for a simple suit at the event. The Glee cast weren't the only stars from Ryan's shows to attend the shindig — Leslie Bibb, Carly Pope and Leslie Grossman from Ryan's first show, Popular, walked the red carpet along with Andrew Rannells and Justin Bartha from The New Normal. Many of the stars of Ryan's shows have grown close with the prolific TV creator, and Andrew, Naya Rivera and Darren Criss even did some impressions of Ryan Murphy on the red carpet for the Associated Press. After the award ceremony, Lea tweeted, "A beautiful night honoring the amazing Ryan Murphy. So happy for him. What a joy to be in such an amazing room with such incredible people."
Lea Michele and Zooey Deschanel were joined by their fellow FOX TV friends as they celebrated the network's shows at an all-star party during the 2013 Winter TCAs in Pasadena yesterday. Lea's Glee co-stars Kevin McHale and Jane Lynch dropped by the bash, but Lea's on- and offscreen boyfriend Cory Monteith wasn't photographed at the event. Meanwhile, Zooey's sister, Emily Deschanel, who stars on FOX's Bones, colour-coordinated with her sister in a black cocktail dress. Mindy Kaling, Shannon Woodward and Nicki Minaj also swung by to celebrate.
The event followed a busy day of promotion for the stars, who sat on a FOX comedy panel yesterday. During the interviews, Mindy got big laughs when she joked around with Zooey about having "special privileges" on The Mindy Project.
Cory Monteith escorted girlfriend Lea Michele, dressed in floor length Armani gown, to Saturday night's LA premiere of American Horror Story: Asylum. Lea and Cory were on hand with friends, and co-stars, Chris Colfer and Jane Lynch to support Glee creator Ryan Murphy, who is also the brain behind American Horror Story and The New Normal.
The second season of American Horror Story features a cast of new faces including Jenna Dewan. Jenna hit the red carpet in a sexy white Reem Acra and joked that it was so tight she couldn't sit down. Some of Hollywood's hottest names make cameos on Asylum including Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, Zachary Quinto, and Chloë Sevigny, just to name a few.
Nicole Richie picked a dramatic black dress and styled her hair in a retro up ’do for the FiFi Awards in NYC today. The FiFi Awards celebrate the best of the fragrance industry, and business-minded Nicole recently joined the ranks of celebrities with their own fragrance. Her trip to NYC comes after a relaxing few weeks in Sydney, where she was reunited with husband Joel Madden, who’s a coach on The Voice. Last week the couple took their kids, Harlow and Sparrow, to Taronga Zoo, and they’ve reportedly been looking for a place to lease for a year. Nicole will be back in Sydney this Saturday for an appearance at David Jones.
The stars of Glee came together on Tuesday night for a screening and presentation with the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in LA. The event got off to a scary start when Amber Riley, who plays Mercedes, collapsed on the red carpet after doing a few press interviews. She tweeted, “Hey guys, I'm okay : ) I got a little dizzy from all the photog flashes! You'd think I's be used to it by now, still a red carpet amateur I guess. Gonna get checked out but I feel fine. Thank you for all the concern and well wishes. I'd also like to thank the photographers for being do professional and not taking photos of me on the ground. I truly truly appreciate it. Could have been super embarrassing.” She made her way inside to join castmates including as Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Chris Colfer and Darren Criss to talk up the show with creator Ryan Murphy. On the red carpet Jane Lynch also hinted that Dianna Agron, who wasn't at the screening, may be finishing up with the show.
The Costume Designers Guild Awards was the latest in a line of award season events to draw a stylish celebrity crowd. In honour of films' crafty costumers, celebs like Rooney Mara, Kate Beckinsale, and Amber Valletta turned to their chic sheaths and pretty dresses to suit up for the occasion. Kate Beckinsale had the night's most glamorous appearance in a romantic Vivienne Westwood floor-length gown, but otherwise these leading ladies, like Rooney in a sweet-cum-sexy J. Mendel frock and Amber Valletta in a brilliant minimalist sheath, showed a little more restraint on the red carpet (perhaps saving their sequins for the Oscars?). Zooey Deschanel Mingles With Winners Claire Danes and Jessica Lange at Fox Searchlight's Globes Party
The Deschanel sisters were the centre of attention at last night's Fox Searchlight post-Golden Globes bash. Zooey, who was up for best actress in a TV comedy for New Girl, was decked out in a custom Prada dress, which she paired with a tuxedo manicure! Her sister Emily, meanwhile, wore a navy blue dress. It was Emily Deschanel's red-carpet debut, following the birth of her son, Henry, last September. The Deschanels mingled with Globe winners Claire Danes, who was crowned best actress in a TV drama for Homeland, and best supporting actress in a TV series, American Horror Story's Jessica Lange. Fox's own Glee star Matthew Morrison made the rounds too — check out who else turned out for the bash!
It was all about the décolletage at tonight's Golden Globe awards, with stars like Charlize Theron, Rooney Mara, Kristen Wiig and Emma Stone all taking the plunge with cleavage-baring gowns. A nice departure from the perennially classic strapless silhouette, a deep V can show just enough skin without being too OTT, as Young Adult nominee Charlize Theron demonstrated perfectly in her feminine Dior confection. They make us laugh. They make us cry (often from laughing too much). These are the ladies who are constant sources of entertainment, and thankfully they’ve jotted down some of their stories, anecdotes and jokes, and published them in book form. The hilarious memoirs of the likes of Tina Fey, Ellen DeGeneres and Mindy Kaling are perfect for Christmas gift-giving — your friend will thank you for all the laugh-out-loud moments!
Fox was another network who organised a big post-Emmys bash last night. It actually hosted the entire telecast, and many of the evening's big winners rolled through along with host Jane Lynch. So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley sparkled on her way inside, where many of the Glee cast, like a Marchesa-clad Lea Michele, were letting loose. Modern Family winner Julie Bowen had the support of her onscreen daughter Sarah Hyland, who changed out of her custom-made Christian Siriano gown into something shorter and ruffly. There was lots more going down during TV's biggest night — check out all of our 2011 Emmys coverage!
