Katy Perry stopped to pose for photos with the classic Lacoste alligator today as she arrived at the Lacoste L!ve Coachella party. Katy, who has been making the rounds at the festival this weekend, donned a tropical-themed bra top and miniskirt by Dolce & Gabbana to the soiree; she even carried a matching pineapple purse. Last night, she took in some music at Coachella with her friends Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. Today, Katy was one of several recording artists and musicians at the Lacoste event, where Alexa Chung manned the turntables and Rita Ora relaxed in the shade. Meanwhile, Chris Pine, Victoria's Secret angel Alessandra Ambrosio, and The Carrie Diaries actress AnnaSophia Robb lounged in a cabana together during the hot desert afternoon, and brothers Joe and Nick Jonas stayed cool in hats and shades as they made the rounds. Last night, Bono co-hosted a Coachella party that drew stars from John Legend to Joe Jonas. Bono's clothing company, Edun — which he co-founded with his wife Ali Hewson in 2005 — teamed up with Diesel to throw their Studio Africa soiree on the first official night of the 2013 festival. The brands launched the Studio Africa project this year as an effort to spotlight fashion, music, and other arts from the continent.
Solange Knowles played DJ for the night at yesterday evening's bash and Congolese-Belgian musician Baloji performed for the crowd. While plenty of the attendees — including John Legend — have a musical pedigree of their own, plenty of actors and other celebrities hit the party, which was held at a private estate in La Quinta, CA. John and his fiance Chrissy Teigen were spotted hanging out with stylist Brad Goreski, while Kellan Lutz, Teresa Palmer, Joe Jonas, and Mad Men's Jessica Paré rounded out the VIP crowd. Check out all the fun pics!
The Jonas Brothers met their match last night on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. The boys stopped by to promote their new album, and the teen heartthrobs got a surprise visit from Sara, aka Fallon's teenage girl character. You may remember Sara from Fallon and Channing Tatum's "Ew" skit last year, but here she goes into full crazy mode, panicking when the Jonas Brothers sign their autographs wrong and requesting a kiss as an apology. It's totally ew-worthy.
Check out the skit after the jump.
Yesterday's Met Gala was full of photogenic moments, and many of the celebs lucky enough to attend shared snaps from behind the scenes. Prada-clad Gwyneth Paltrow towered over a petite Rachel Zoe, while Kate Bosworth had her makeup touched up. The Jonas Brothers suited up for the occasion and Alicia Keys had a date night with Swizz Beatz. Click through to see which other celebs gave a look at their big night!
Some of the international names who were flown in for the launch party of Sydney’s Marquee nightclub on Friday night took the opportunity to see some of Sydney Harbour on a boat ride yesterday. Paris Hilton, whose boyfriend DJ Afrojack provided some entertainment on Friday, stripped down to a printed cut-out one-piece and sunned herself on the deck. She also caught up with Sharni Vinson, who boarded with her camera-toting beau Kellan Lutz. Joe Jonas wore another bright pink top for the outing and chatted with Wilmer Valderrama, who seemed to be his purple carpet buddy at the Marquee opening. Other stars such as Nick and Vanessa Lachey and Ashlee Simpson flew out of the country on Saturday — Ashlee rushed home to make sure she didn’t miss the birth of her sister Jessica Simpson’s baby!
Talk about celeb-overload! The Star's new nightclub, Marquee, attracted a strong contingent of international of celebrities for Friday night's much-hyped opening party in Sydney. Paris Hilton headlined the A-list guest list in a sparkling Rachel Gilbert design, whilst Minka Kelly, Ashlee Simpson, Joe Jonas, Nick and Vanessa Lachey rounded out the Hollywood crew. Expat Aussies also made the trip home for the event, with Abbie Cornish looking lovely in a green Alberta Ferretti number, Sharnee Vinson wearing Aje and a Yeojin Bae-clad Isabel Lucas all frocking up for the purple carpet. Short, sexy, bright and very sparkly; the party-hard dress code was most definitely adhered to by the celebrity attendees. See all the party pics!
The opening night of Marquee, the brand new nightclub at The Star in Pyrmont, Sydney, brought out some of the biggest names in Hollywood and Australia. Local stars kicked things off on the purple carpet at 8:30 p.m., where they posed for photos and spoke with media. The super-bright lights had a sweltering effect on many of the celebrities, who tried to keep cool and headed straight into the club after their press duties. We spoke to heaps of the stars on their way in, including Jodi Gordon, Ricki-Lee Coulter, Erin McNaught, Laura Csortan, Rebecca Breeds and Luke Mitchell, Erika Heynatz and more — most of them were looking forward to music from Afrojack and LMFAO’s Red Foo, and a few said they were excited to see will.i.am, who will hit the decks for tonight’s public opening.
At around 10 p.m. the international stars arrived — Isabel Lucas told us, “I was excited to come because I was allowed to bring my dad. We’ve had a really lovely time. I haven’t come to Sydney for quite a while. It will be good to spend time with friends.” Inside the party we saw her hanging with former Home and Away co-star Rhys Wakefield. She also revealed that she’ll be participating in Earth Hour tonight at 8:30. Nick Lachey stayed close to his pregnant wife Vanessa, who was glowing in a loose-fitting black and white dress. A super-sparkly Paris Hilton, dressed in Rachel Gilbert, worked her signature poses against the media wall and was rushed inside ahead of boyfriend Afrojack’s set. Wilmer Valderrama and Joe Jonas hit the purple carpet at the same time and did some of their interviews together, while we spotted Ashlee Simpson and Minka Kelly — who both indulged in some retail therapy on Oxford St earlier in the day — sitting together inside the venue.
Kellan Lutz told us he goes to Marquee in Vegas “all the time” when he’s there, and that he was keen to hit the dance floor with girlfriend Sharni Vinson, saying, “I’m lucky enough to be dating one of the best dancers in the world.” Aje-clad Sharni hadn’t been to a Marquee club before and joked that her dress presented “certain barriers” when it came to dancing. She added, “The vibe is already huge, so I’m feeling it’s going to be a great night.”
To celebrate the opening of Marquee in Sydney, a star-studded VIP party is being thrown tonight. And when we say star-studded, we mean heaps of Hollywood stars have flown in just for the bash. Marquee, a $20 million nightclub that’s already a celebrity hotspot in Vegas, is opening at The Star in Pyrmont, and joining local stars such as Erin McNaught, Isabel Lucas, Jodi Gordon, Didier Cohen and Alex Perry are the likes of Paris Hilton, Nick and Vanessa Lachey, Ashlee Simpson, Kellan Lutz and Sharni Vinson, Abbie Cornish, Joe Jonas, Slash, Minka Kelly, Wilmer Valderrama and more. Paris’ boyfriend Afrojack and the LMFAO’s Red Foo will also be hitting the decks to DJ, so you can imagine that if there’s any party anyone wants to be at tonight, it’s this one! The venue opens to the public tomorrow, with will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas on hand for music duties. Lots of the visiting celebs have already arrived in Sydney — see who got snapped at the airport!
There's been a celeb-studded red carpet at today's American Music Awards! Fans also voted for their favourite actors, athletes and music stars, with Harry Potter’s Rupert Grint taking out the best British actor award. He said, “I’m just the ginger one in the background. This shouldn’t be happening!” Rupert was also joined onstage by his co-stars Tom Felton and Matthew Lewis to present Tom Daley with the best British young sports star honour. The fun night was hosted by The Saturdays singer Mollie King and TV presenter Nick Grimshaw, with some entertainment provided by Jason Derülo, Pixie Lott and Joe Jonas.
