Miranda Kerr paired a sexy sheer shirt with a tight black pencil skirt to hit the red carpet for the Qantas gala dinner party held at Sydney's domestic airport last night. Miranda was joined by John Travolta and Kelly Preston for the evening out in celebration of the Australian airline. Miranda has been busy with her duties as a global ambassador to Qantas recently, and earlier this week, Miranda hit the catwalk to model the airline's new fashion-forward uniform for employees.

Miranda may have more time to focus on Qantas, in addition to her other appointments with Kora Organics and Mango's new fashion campaign, since she recently confirmed her departure from Victoria's Secret. Rumors erupted last week that her contract with the lingerie brand would not be renewed, and she put the speculation to rest over the weekend addressing her shift in focus. She told the Sydney Morning Herald, "I've been modelling since I was 13. I'm now entering a new phase in my life. I have felt this coming since my son was born and, after I became a mother, I realised I needed to prioritise my time."

Major stars of TV and film gathered together in LA yesterday for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's 2012 Installation Luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Jennifer Lawrence stepped out in a Narciso Rodriguez ensemble and met up with her Silver Linings Playbook co-star Bradley Cooper inside the event. Bradley and Jennifer will likely be spending time together in the upcoming months while promoting their movie prior to its US November release, but first, she'll report to Atlanta to start filming Catching Fire. Bradley's reportedly heading to Las Vegas to begin work on The Hangover Part III.

Mad Men's Christina Hendricks looked lovely in a black dress while posing for photos on the red carpet, as did Political Animals star Carla Gugino and Django Unchained's Kerry Washington. Inside the ballroom, old friends Dustin Hoffman and Jack Black shared a laugh while John Travolta posed for photos with peers. This year's gathering gave celebrities the chance to catch up and also served as an opportunity for the HFPA to announce its newly inducted officers.

Blake Lively continued her busy press tour for Savages (out Sep. 27) at the movie’s NYC premiere today. The gorgeous blonde, stunning in a striking yellow Gucci gown, had the company of her co-stars Taylor Kitsch, John Travolta and director Oliver Stone, while other stars who supported the screening included Girls actress Zosia Mamet, model Tyson Beckford, Matchbox 20’s Rob Thomas, and Christopher Meloni. On top of photo calls and red carpets, Blake has been making the talk show rounds, appearing on The Late Show with David Letterman and Good Morning America. On the latter program, Blake talked about hanging out with Salma Hayek and the cast on set, saying, “I’m close with my family, so we would have dance parties and cook and [Salma’s] mum would bring tamales.”

Blake Lively stole the spotlight in a striking Zuhair Murad gown at today’s LA premiere of Savages (out Sep. 27). The Gossip Girl beauty completed her look with bombshell waves and red lipstick, and posed for photos with producer Eric Kopeloff. Also at the premiere of the Oliver Stone-directed thriller was John Travolta, who indulged in lots of PDA with his wife, Kelly Preston. Salma Hayek and Benicio Del Toro stuck together on the red carpet, while Oliver made the rounds with Emile Hirsch.

Miranda Kerr wore a red Georges Chakra dress for the Qantas Airways Spirit of Australia Party on Friday at LA's Roosevelt Hotel. The model is one of the airline's new celebrity ambassadors, along with fellow Aussie David Whitehill. Miranda seems super excited about her latest job. She tweeted yesterday, "I'm excited to represent Qantas as a global Ambassador. I love everything Australian, and Qantas is an iconic Australian company." She was joined by many other Aussie celebs, including Chris Hemsworth, Olivia Newton-John, Teresa Palmer and Ryan Kwanten, as well as John Travolta.
