Iron Man 3 has been in cinemas for over a week, marking the fourth time that Tony Stark has been prominently featured in a movie. But it's been five years since we first saw Robert Downey Jr. don his iron armour, and it can be hard to keep track of everything Tony's been up to since. That's why we've put together this handy guide to Tony's journey — including villains, love interests, and everything in between. Haven't seen Iron Man 3 yet? To refresh your memory, skip the movie marathon and take our crash course in all things Stark instead.
Gwyneth Paltrow was not afraid to show some skin when she walked the red carpet for the premiere of Iron Man 3. The sheer dress gave viewers a peek at the star's backside, which Gwyneth credits to trainer Tracy Anderson. Tracy helped transform Gwyneth's self-described saggy and square-shaped butt into a lifted, rounded, and shapely backside. We learned three of Gwyneth's favourite butt-toning moves directly from her trainer — just in time to help you rock your skinny jeans. Add these exercises to your workout to feel the burn and see the lift!
If ever there was a movie promo tour that could instantly make us feel like a kid in a candy store, it is Iron Man 3, or more specifically, Gwyneth Paltrow's enviable wardrobe that has come with it. Her crisp white pleated-front KaufmanFranco dress accented with a black waist belt, also by the designer, proved a sleek choice for her tour kick-off in Munich, while her floral Erdem suiting in Paris and black jumpsuit look on The Graham Norton Show in London provided us with another dose of her signature sleek edge. But last night's LA premiere look really took the cake. Paltrow stepped onto the red carpet in a very revealing Antonio Berardi gown, courtesy of sheer-panelling at the sleeves and down the length of her maxi-skirt. For an all-angles look at her daring choice, plus even more ensembles from the Iron Man 3 tour, keep clicking.
Gwyneth Paltrow hit the red carpet in a sheer colour-blocked Antonio Berardi dress at the premiere of Iron Man 3 in LA yesterday. She was joined by her castmates Guy Pearce, Ben Kingsley, Don Cheadle and Robert Downey Jr., who brought along his wife, Susan. The couple arrived sporting dark sunglasses on the carpet and squeezed in some sweet PDA while waving to fans. Yesterday's event marks the first stateside premiere ahead of the movie's May 3 US release (it's already out in Australia). When asked if there would be a fourth Iron Man movie, or if he has plans to appear in the Avengers sequel, Robert said he "doesn't want to wear out [his] welcome" as Tony Stark but knows there's a lot of goodwill for the franchise and his character. Gwyneth and RDJ have recently been promoting the action flick overseas, including stops in Munich, Paris and London. Gwyneth told us that while across the pond, she took her kids, Apple and Moses, to see the movie with their friends and "they loved it."
It's been a busy month for the actress, but with lots of cause for celebration. In addition to making the press rounds for the third instalment of Iron Man, Gwyneth's second cookbook, It's All Good, debuted at number one on the New York Times bestseller list earlier this month. Gwyneth was also named People magazine's Most Beautiful Woman this week. In the issue, Gwyneth revealed that despite glamming it up for the red carpet, she's much more stripped-down while hanging out at home, saying, "Around the house, I'm in jeans and a t-shirt. I don't really wear makeup."
If ever there was a movie promo tour that could instantly make us feel like a kid in a candy store, it is Iron Man 3, or more specifically, Gwyneth Paltrow's enviable wardrobe that promises to come with it. After just three appearances (so far), she has already given us the gift of cool styling. Her crisp white pleated-front KaufmanFranco dress accented with a black waist belt, also by the designer, proved a sleek choice for her tour kickoff in Munich, while her floral Erdem suiting in Paris and black and white Dior look at the London photocall supplied us with another dose of her signature girlie-meets-edgy aesthetic. If we had to guess, Paltrow's ensembles are only going to get better from here. Don't miss a moment of the red carpet action. Gwyneth Paltrow, in a Dior dress, and Robert Downey Jr. got flirty for a photo call in London yesterday. The Iron Man 3 co-stars popped up in the UK for the latest stop on their worldwide tour, which has also taken them to Germany and Paris. Gwyneth and RDJ arrived in London during a sombre time, as former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher was laid to rest yesterday. They will be extending their stay across the pond since the film's UK premiere was pushed back from its originally scheduled date, today, to tomorrow due to the funeral arrangements, which required heightened security to tend to the large crowds.
Gwyneth and RDJ have been turning on the charm during the film's press push, and Robert planted kisses on Gwyneth's cheek during their photo-call in Munich last week. The duo will continue the fun into next week as they are scheduled to head back to the US to premiere Iron Man 3 in LA ahead of its May 3 US release. Iron Man 3 comes out in Australia on Apr. 24.
Gwyneth Paltrow donned a white Kaufmanfranco dress to join her Iron Man 3 co-star Robert Downey Jr. for a photocall in Munich yesterday. He caused quite a stir as he chose to wear traditional Bavarian garb of lederhosen for the occasion. Yesterday's stop marks Gwyneth's first on the film's worldwide promotional tour. However, the action has already begun for RDJ with stops in Korea, Beijing, and Moscow. The pair are next headed to Paris to debut the film on Monday, followed by stops in London and LA leading up to Iron Man 3's May 3 release in the US.
Gwyneth is now switching gears to promote her latest big-screen endeavor following a recent press push for her new cookbook, It's All Good. As if taking on double-duty with her film and new book were not enough, Gwyneth also graces the cover of US Harper's Bazaar's May edition, and inside the issue, she spoke about her evolving marriage to husband Chris Martin. She said, "We are growing into very similar people. It's cool, it's good. It's not always easy, though!"
"Today is the first day of what's left of your life," announces villain The Mandarin (Ben Kingsley) in the latest trailer for Iron Man 3. Indeed, if you caught the first trailer for Iron Man 3, you know things aren't looking good for Tony Stark. He's having a depressive streak after the incident in New York (see: The Avengers) and he's having trouble sleeping, perpetually worried about his true love, Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow). It's an ideal time for the goosebumps-worthy Mandarin to slip in and shake him down. It's not all bad, though: while this new trailer is just as chilling as the first, it's also more hopeful. Tony has enemies, but he's also got friends — lots of them, in their very own Iron Man-like suits.
Though I'm holding out hope that good prevails over evil, I find The Mandarin to be simply terrifying. He's got a unique look, but it's Kingsley's voice that sends shivers down my spine. Mostly I fear for Pepper, who I'd like to think survives, but Tony's proclamation of "revenge" at the end of the trailer makes me wonder if she makes it out alright. Iron Man 3 hits cinemas on April 24, but until then, you can watch the new trailer after the jump.
Iron Man 3's April 24 release date may still feel a while away, but at least we have a few teases from the film to check out until then. So far, we've gotten a peek at returning alums Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle, and a few new characters have made their debut as well. Click through to see Guy Pearce as Aldrich Killian, Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin, and all the rest of the teasing one-sheets.
