Last week Hugh Jackman kicked off the international press tour for his new movie The Wolverine. He got things started in Seoul, South Korea, where he was excitedly greeted by fans at a red carpet event, and then he was joined by two of his female co-stars, Tao Okamoto and Rila Fukashima, for a big London premiere. Over the weekend he popped up at Comic-Con to reunite with his X-Men: Days of Future Past co-stars on a star-studded panel, and then he moved on to NYC for a fan event and an appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
Hugh did plenty of press for The Wolverine during the blockbuster’s Sydney shoot last year, and as its July 25 release date got closer, he revealed more to ramp up publicity. The actor recently said he’ll be cutting down the amount of stunt work he does in action films after nearly breaking his neck during The Wolverine’s shoot. He said, “In the film, there’s a scene where I swing from inside to outside a train and my neck got caught. I thought I had broken it. It was one of those moments when my wife looked at me and said, ‘What are you doing? Enough playing in the schoolyard! You are not invincible!’” He also told Kyle and Jackie O this morning that he’s planning to take some time off: “I’m taking a little while off for sure. I don’t know if I’m taking a year. The movie I’m doing now is my fourth movie in a row. I’m being very greedy. There’s a thing called being in the dog box — that’s me.”
