We may be well into the swing of Summer, but there's one Winter trend that just won't quit — the sexy, dark, dangerous lip look. Dramatic description? It may well be, but a makeup craze this good deserves a bit of extra attention. There's something so mysterious and luxe about slicking dark red, purple or berry-hued colours across your lips — it's the easiest way to make like a modern femme fatale and knock the socks off anyone who stands in your way. As these celebrities beautifully exhibit, there are so many ways to interpret the trend. No matter your complexion and hair colour, there's a version in here that you can take and make your own this season. Because while we love a bright, light lip for long lunches in Summer, there's nothing quite like a vampy vibe to carry you through the balmy nights.

Miley Cyrus is mixing up her look once again! The singer covered up her edgy pixie cut with a wig at the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas event in LA on Saturday. The short blonde bob features mid-length bangs and stops short of her jaw line, making it look like she grew her hair out overnight. Miley shared her fresh look on Twitter, saying she was "bored" and playing with wigs, and she also shared a snap on Instagram, posing with a friend.
Miley's signature pixie was on display on Friday when she got up close and personal with Santa Claus on stage at the at the KIIS FM's Jingle Ball in LA. Her wig change-up isn't too surprising, though, as unexpected makeovers have become the norm with Miley. Just last month, she bleached her eyebrows to match her platinum blonde 'do, only to debut thick drawn brown eyebrows days later.
Trends may come and go, but real classic beauty will never fade — and that's why we'll never, ever tire of seeing creamy nude lips on the mouths of our favourite celebrities. The thing about "nude" is that the colour actually encompasses hundreds of different shades. Just like everyone in the world has slightly different skin colours, we all also present a slightly different colour when we leave our lips bare or coat them with a matching lipstick. Jessica Alba, for example — her nude is a light berry shade, while Diane Kruger's natural colour is a pale and creamy shade. Miranda Kerr has a hint of pale pink to her lips, while Jennifer Hawkins has the lightest berry undertone. Whichever look you're going for, you can take inspiration from the celebrities in this gallery. Sure, they like their bright pinks and oranges, too — but paring things back never looked so good.
Miley Cyrus may have made Mrs. Claus jealous when she got up close and personal with Santa at KIIS-FM's Jingle Ball in LA yesterday. The singer donned a shiny, red crop top with white cuffs for her theatrical performance, and she showcased her signature stage antics, twerking and sticking out her tongue while singing into a candy-cane microphone. The extended performance marks a return to flirty form for Miley, who gave us a purr-heavy rendition of "Wrecking Ball" with a lip-synching cat at the American Music Awards last month. Fans at the star-studded concert were also treated to festive performances by Selena Gomez, who rocked the stage with a short bob haircut, plus Robin Thicke, Enrique Iglesias, Ariana Grande, and more.
What exactly does a modern-day, self-described feminist look like? An award-winning, media-dominating actress who's unafraid to speak up. In other words, Claire Danes, who told US Glamour, "I am a feminist. And I'm so glad that Lena Dunham exists, because she is one too, and she's quite vocal about it." Beyoncé also dropped the f-word in a recent interview, explaining that while she's not a big fan of labels, she does consider herself a modern feminist. And other famous women have been even more unabashed about declaring themselves feminists, like Miley Cyrus, who says she considers herself to be one of the biggest feminists in the world.
Not all of these stars' celebrity peers are so eager to call themselves feminists, though. Lady Gaga infamously said awhile back, "I'm not a feminist. I hail men; I love men," as if loving men and advocating political, social and economic equality for women were mutually exclusive. But famous feminists do have some company. Read through for quotes from famous women who are proud feminists.
It's no wonder Miley Cyrus has been named one of Barbara Walters's Most Fascinating People of 2013.
