Talk about celeb-overload! The Star's new nightclub, Marquee, attracted a strong contingent of international of celebrities for Friday night's much-hyped opening party in Sydney. Paris Hilton headlined the A-list guest list in a sparkling Rachel Gilbert design, whilst Minka Kelly, Ashlee Simpson, Joe Jonas, Nick and Vanessa Lachey rounded out the Hollywood crew. Expat Aussies also made the trip home for the event, with Abbie Cornish looking lovely in a green Alberta Ferretti number, Sharnee Vinson wearing Aje and a Yeojin Bae-clad Isabel Lucas all frocking up for the purple carpet. Short, sexy, bright and very sparkly; the party-hard dress code was most definitely adhered to by the celebrity attendees. See all the party pics!
The opening night of Marquee, the brand new nightclub at The Star in Pyrmont, Sydney, brought out some of the biggest names in Hollywood and Australia. Local stars kicked things off on the purple carpet at 8:30 p.m., where they posed for photos and spoke with media. The super-bright lights had a sweltering effect on many of the celebrities, who tried to keep cool and headed straight into the club after their press duties. We spoke to heaps of the stars on their way in, including Jodi Gordon, Ricki-Lee Coulter, Erin McNaught, Laura Csortan, Rebecca Breeds and Luke Mitchell, Erika Heynatz and more — most of them were looking forward to music from Afrojack and LMFAO’s Red Foo, and a few said they were excited to see will.i.am, who will hit the decks for tonight’s public opening.
At around 10 p.m. the international stars arrived — Isabel Lucas told us, “I was excited to come because I was allowed to bring my dad. We’ve had a really lovely time. I haven’t come to Sydney for quite a while. It will be good to spend time with friends.” Inside the party we saw her hanging with former Home and Away co-star Rhys Wakefield. She also revealed that she’ll be participating in Earth Hour tonight at 8:30. Nick Lachey stayed close to his pregnant wife Vanessa, who was glowing in a loose-fitting black and white dress. A super-sparkly Paris Hilton, dressed in Rachel Gilbert, worked her signature poses against the media wall and was rushed inside ahead of boyfriend Afrojack’s set. Wilmer Valderrama and Joe Jonas hit the purple carpet at the same time and did some of their interviews together, while we spotted Ashlee Simpson and Minka Kelly — who both indulged in some retail therapy on Oxford St earlier in the day — sitting together inside the venue.
Kellan Lutz told us he goes to Marquee in Vegas “all the time” when he’s there, and that he was keen to hit the dance floor with girlfriend Sharni Vinson, saying, “I’m lucky enough to be dating one of the best dancers in the world.” Aje-clad Sharni hadn’t been to a Marquee club before and joked that her dress presented “certain barriers” when it came to dancing. She added, “The vibe is already huge, so I’m feeling it’s going to be a great night.”
Nick Lachey has proudly announced that his wife, Vanessa (née Minnillo) is pregnant with their first child. He shared the exciting news on Live! With Kelly on Monday morning, saying, “She was in New York and I was in the Bahamas. She went to the store and got a pregnancy test and it came back positive. We’re having a baby!” There are already some photos that show Vanessa’s small baby bump; she’s reported to be around 12 weeks along. Nick, who added she’s been craving Mexican food, couldn’t contain his excitement about being a dad: “I’ve had a chance to do a lot of great things in my career and my life but this is the one thing that, more than any other, I look forward to. The fact that it’s actually here, it’s overwhelming.” Congrats to Nick and Vanessa!

Nick and Vanessa's celebrated their big day in the Caribbean in front of 35 guests. After Nick's TV experience with his first marriage to Jessica Simpson on Newlyweds, it may seem surprising that he's airing his relationship on the small screen again, but this time around the two-hour special is, as of now, a one-time deal. Check out the preview.
Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo got married on Friday evening in an intimate ceremony on Richard Branson's Necker Island. The couple tied the knot in the Carribbean location in front of 35 guests, who were told little else but that the attire was "island chic." Vanessa chose an intricate Monique Lhuillier gown with an embellished lace corset and a tufted skirt, while the groom wore a Dolce & Gabbana suit. Though other details have been kept underwraps, Nick and Vanessa's wedding will be televised on US network TLC in a special that's set to air on July 30.
Nick and Vanessa became engaged last November after they began dating in 2006. Congrats to the newlyweds!
Jessica Simpson shared the happy news that she's marrying boyfriend Eric Johnson over the weekend, even giving a first glimpse of her ruby and diamond ring. Her family is overjoyed, however, others are wondering why Jess chose to make her statement one week after her ex-husband, Nick Lachey, announced his plans to wed to Vanessa Minnillo. Nick just weighed in on Jess's surprise, saying, "I will say the same thing I always say: I wish her the very best." Jessica and Eric apparently picked their engagement date for a special reason, but we're wondering what you make of the closely timed developments. So, tell us—do you think Nick and Jessica coincidentally made similar announcements, or is there something up on her end?
It’s a day for engagement announcements apparently. First there was Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo and now LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian are also engaged. Cibrian's ex-wife Brandi Glanville, who has two children with the actor, told E! News that she planned to meet LeAnn next week. Eddie and LeAnn hooked up on the set of the TV movies Northern Lights and Cibrian eventually filed for divorce and Rimes split from her husband of seven years, Dean Sherement, soon after. Rimes recently caused controversy by appearing on the cover of Shape magazine, sparking reader complaints.

The InStyle after party might have been the most star-studded event post-Golden Globes, but the parties spread out around the city by the end of the night. Drew Barrymore brought another very special date — her brand-new statue, which she'll have to return to get engraved — at HBO's event after helping bring the network two Golden Globe wins for Grey Gardens. Entourage costars Emmanuelle Chriqui and newly-single Jerry Ferrara also posed at HBO. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler sat side-by-side during the ceremony and stuck together at the NBC and Focus Features' bash elsewhere in the Beverly Hilton. While, Ashley Olsen looked stunning in bright blue as she met up with her man Justin Bartha.
Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr hit up the Sunset Towers event where they chatted with one of the night's winners Robert Downey Jr. Reese Witherspoon also slipped into that one still wearing her pretty dress. The Mad Men cast didn't all get to take the stage to accept for the series's win, but they celebrated together at AMC's viewing party. January Jones was spotted looking close to Jeremy Piven and perhaps even leaving together. Kevin Bacon was so happy to be nominated on the same night as his wife and as usual the two looked totally smitten all evening long. James Cameron had a lot to say in the press room about how his actors should get more respect for their work in Avatar, which took home best drama and best director.
