New Zealand Label MONDAY Haircare to Be Sold in US Target Stores

Founded in New Zealand, MONDAY Haircare is the brainchild of entrepreneur Jaimee Lupton. In 2020, the brand earned cult status in Australia when Coles, it’s official stockist, couldn’t keep the range of shampoo and conditioners on the shelves — and for very good reason.

Costing just $10 for the 350ml bottle, the MONDAY range might be budget-friendly but it certainly doesn’t skimp on style. The packaging, which is made from recycled plastic, is also the most aesthetically-pleasing shade of millennial pink and makes any bathroom look Instagram ready.

Now, those living in the United States will have the opportunity to try MONDAY’s range of affordable hair products thanks to a new deal with Target. The MONDAY team recently signed a $40 million deal with Target in the US so the product range — which its formulas of Smooth, Moisture, Gentle and Volume — will be available in 1,700 Target stores as well as online.

While the brand only currently offers its range of four shampoos and four conditioners, the quality of these products are also a major reason for the success of MONDAY in its home country of New Zealand as well as Australia.

“MONDAY not only looks good but it works — like it should at a salon-quality level,” Lupton told The Latch. “Being coined ‘Liquid Gold’ in the media, it’s been incredible to see the response and to cultivate a community of like-minded women who are all sharing their stories.”

For all of the beauty enthusiasts in Australia, you can pick up MONDAY from your local Coles supermarket, or online. For those in New Zealand, you can find it stocked in Superette, New World and Pak’N’Save.
