We've had a colourful week here at POPSUGAR — literally and figuratively! We were blown away (and snowed under) with all the action at the 2013 Met Gala, and we loved seeing our favourite stars stepping out of their comfort zone and into the punk theme. On the fashion front, Ali got to check out heaps of new season collections, with Gasparre Cashmere and Bianca Spender standing out from the crowds with their beautiful pieces. Health and beauty editor Alison took cues from the Met Gala with her beauty choices, while celebrity editor Jess lined up some roses from hunky men, thanks to The Bachelor Australia. There's plenty more to see — come this way!
There's never a dull moment in the world of celebrity, fashion and beauty — how could there be, when there are so many new things to marvel at? This week, fashion editor Ali was a busy little bee, popping in to showings for labels like Armani Exchange, Lilya, May The Label and more. . . And we may have added to our list of style must-haves upon seeing some of the cool new threads. In the beauty world, Alison showed off an affordable lipstick that she gets endless compliments on, discovered a divine cosmetics brand new to Australia and found a concealer to beat all others. As for entertainment? Jess was all over the My Kitchen Rules grand final and Kelly Osbourne's Aussie visit. Click through to check it all out!
After the craziness of fashion week last week, we spent most of this week catching up on the latest in the land of celebrity, fashion and beauty. POPSUGAR health and beauty editor Alison tried out some so-new-they're-not-on-the-shelves-yet products, and the verdict? The Chanel mascara is a winner, and we've got proof! Fashion editor Ali got a look-see at the styles and trends that are coming our way for Spring/Summer later this year (yep, we're already talking Summer!), and celebrity editor Jess revisted Catching Fire after watching the exclusive trailer that was released at the MTV Video Awards. And, of course, we documented it all — and much more — via Instagram. See our week in pictures when you click through!
We have been all over Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia. Fashion editor Ali, health and beauty editor Alison, and publisher Marisa have been on the ground at Carriageworks (and all over Sydney, depending on show locations) reporting on the runway and backstage beauty as quickly as possible. We had our phones at the ready to snap all the behind-the-scenes details you may have missed, from hair and makeup prep to designer notes for how models should walk, and accessories that also deserve the spotlight.

It may have been a short week (hooray for public holidays!) but it was as busy as ever — especially since Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia is just around the corner! We were kept busy this week as we covered all aspects of the latest and greatest celebrity, fashion and beauty news, and as usual, we updated Instagram along the way! Fashion editor Ali was thrown into the thick of all things fashion, taking in showings by talented Aussie designers Rebecca Vallance and Gary Bigeni, while beauty editor Alison chatted to Australian actress Phoebe Tonkin about all things beauty (and squeezed in a selfie). Happy Good Friday, everyone! We're making like the rest of the country, and taking a highly-anticipated long weekend to rest our weary bones (flop on the couch and catch up on Girls), rehydrate (sip cocktails) and help out the economy (buy hundreds of tiny Cadbury chocolate eggs). That said, this week just past has been pretty great, too! We welcomed a new team member, Steph — she's our new health and beauty writer and you can meet her in this gallery — Ali and Marisa put their styling caps back on and had a go at the beautiful new Zimmermann range, Alison got in front of the camera for Dior (just for laughs!), Jess hit up a film screening and her first-ever yoga class and Gen kept Heath Ledger's memory alive in a charitable way. There was plenty more keeping us busy — click through to see it all, and happy Easter!
We kicked off our week with a really fun photo shoot in Sydney's Glebe and we've gotta say, it was pretty fun being in front of a professional camera for once! Once that excitement died down, it was back to business as usual for us here at Sugar. Alison flew to Melbourne to cover the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival and met and interviewed stunning Hungarian model Barbara Palvin, while Ali was in Sydney catching up with super cool British designer Henry Holland. We joined the rest of the country on Ellen watch today — especially when we spotted the paparazzi waiting for her outside our office window! Along the way, we spied some new season buys we'll be lining up for, gave our new staff uniform a spin and swooned over a pair of Prada lace-ups . . . Click through to check it all out!
Another week, done and dusted! We've been busy little worker bees this week, collecting ourselves after the madness of Fashion month and getting settled into a nice little Autumn mindset — a bit of a struggle for fashion editor Ali, who's just returned from a holiday in paradise (ie, Mexico). We've spent time lusting after a new range of Chanel lipsticks — you can see Alison wearing one of the luxe shades in here — hitting Future Music Festival, catching up on Girls on a rainy day off (is there anything better?) and trying out green juices. But the most exciting thing to happen this week? Well, that would be the launch of our brand spankin' new website, POPSUGAR Health & Fitness. Full of tips, pervy food diaries, expert advice and celebrity exercise secrets, it's like your one-stop shop for being your best self. Go on, click through and check it all out!
Well, it's Friday lunch-time, and you know what that means. . . It's time to recap what's been going on in our work world this week! We kicked it off with a delish lunch that made a rainy day seem so much better, and the rest flowed from there! Marisa went to lunch hosted by Megan Gale, who was as lovely and gorgeous as ever, Alison tried out some new products — including the too-cute Archies Girls range by MAC — and Jess attended an Aussie movie premiere and tried out a cooking school. Throw in the green nail polish, the new boyfriend and packets and packets of Tim Tams and you have a very happy week! It's all here in this gallery — click through and check it out.
It's lucky we're all girlie girls in here at Sugar, because our week couldn't have been prettier or more feminine. It started off with us oohing and aahing over the red carpet arrivals at the Oscars — such stellar viewing needed chocolate, and lots of it, so we had a table laden with the stuff. After the big event came a few happenings closer to home — Marisa hit the Witchery A/W 2013 Collection launch at David Jones in Sydney (and spied Samantha Harris sitting front row), while Alison had a Chanel launch to get dolled up for. We also marked the end of summer with lots of layers and hours of good DVDs to watch . . . . Doesn't that sound nice on this dreary day? There's plenty more to see from the week — click through to check it all out!
