It's Monday and that means it's time to check out what's happening in mag land! Who has all the gossip and glamour from the Golden Globe Awards. Famous is asking the biggest question in entertainment: Is this the end for Brad and Angelina? NW is checking out stars in crisis, while Grazia is taking a look at the latest body image blowup to hit Hollywood. So, tell us—which magazine will you be picking up this week?
Jennifer Aniston had all eyes on her sexy dress—and thigh-high slit—at Sunday's Golden Globe Awards, but the chatter hasn't all been positive for the actress. The NY Times found a way to criticise her amazing body while CNN's Showbiz Tonight aired a nine-minute long segment about the standard ways she attracts attention around the release of a movie—racy photo shoot, perfectly timed romance rumours and Brad Pitt talk. It's no big secret that we're fans of Jen, but it seems like there are some who think that her flirty relationship with Gerard and their upcoming racy magazine spread are too attention-seeking. So what do you think—is Jennifer Aniston backlash justified?
He may not have a gig on Australian Idol anymore, but Andrew G seems to be settling into life in LA just fine. Andrew now has a home in Hollywood with his actress/producer wife Noa Tishby. The pair were snapped attending the official HBO after party after the Golden Globes on Sunday at Circa 55 Restaurant at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Andrew posted updates during the ceremony on his Twitter account (example: Gervais, OWNING Mel Gibson. GeniusGeniusGenius!!!!) and gave a detailed account of his evening here. Andrew is currently hosting The Hot Hits Live from LA and he’s also appearing on The 7pm Project. And if you’re like me and were thinking that Noa was looking especially voluptuous, Andrew nipped any rumours on Twitter. After joking about prams just a few days before, he clarified by saying, “I promise. We're not preggers, just overly domesticated.”
Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom flew under the radar amid all the Golden Globes hype yesterday in LA. They didn’t attend the ceremony or walk the red carpet, but were spotted at the CAA bash at the Sunset Tower hotel. The party was for peeps who are represented by the powerhouse agency like Meryl Streep, Sandra Bullock...and Orlando. It was a no-press event, but apparently one photographer was able to take a sneaky photo. The couple were seen chatting to Golden Globe winner Robert Downey Jr. at the posh party.
Check out our Golden Globe PopSugar Rush special with exclusive press room video of Sandra as well as the Glee cast thanking Suri Cruise! Also the highlights from the show and our insiders report from the night's hottest after party!
In the 2010 Golden Globe Awards edition of PopSugar Rush, the Glee cast talks about its famous fan, Suri Cruise, Jennifer Aniston wows in a very daring dress, and Josh Duhamel jokes with us about wanting to see Robert Pattinson!
Overall, I’d have to say the 67th annual Golden Globes were a bit underwhelming. No water cooler moments to talk about, no drunk celebs (Julia Roberts was maybe a little tipsy) and no big laughs. I REALLY wanted to like Ricky Gervais as host. I already like him, but he just wasn’t that funny. Usually there’s a team writing one-liners up until the last second for the host, but I wasn’t wowed. Let’s take a look at the evening’s hits and misses.
Miss: Hot mess speeches from Drew Barrymore and Chloe Sevigny. Pull yourselves together already. Remember Gwyneth’s messy Oscar speech? It’s not a good look.
Hit: Robert Downey Jr. He gave us the only funny speech of the night.
Miss: Toni Collette talking about being “on the loo” when she was nominated 15 years ago during her acceptance speech. Cringe.
Hit: Ricky Gervais did land one zinger when he said he liked a drink as much as the next man—unless the next man was Mel Gibson.
Miss: Sam Worthington looking pained while he was presenting. You know he would have rather been anywhere else. But at least he got to take home a presenter gift basket.
Miss: Where was all the star power? Brad and Angelina? Tom and Katie? Alec Baldwin?
Hit: Glee winning for Best Television Series—Comedy or Musical!
Hit: James Cameron saying the his ex-wife Kathryn Bigelow should have won the best director prize. Very gracious.
The Golden Globes are supposed to be the fun, boozy party next to the staid Oscars. Hopefully we can expect a little more in the laugh department when Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin host the Academy Awards on March 7. But what did you think—what are your picks for hits and misses?
The Golden Globes were full of love last night despite the ugly weather. Emily Blunt and fiance John Krasinski took the red carpet. As did Sam Worthington and his stylist girlfriend Natalie Mark—who were looking cheeky on the red carpet. Nic and Keith cosied up at the Weinstein after party. While others, like Heidi and Seal, Courteney and David, Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter, partnered up for the cameras like the pros they are. So, which Golden Globes duo was your favourite?
Well folks, now that the Golden Globes are behind us, it's time to do what we do best — pick it all apart, analyze it and try to figure out what it means for the rest of the awards season. A number of our predictions came true, but there were a few surprises mixed in as well. I was sure that Gabourey Sidibe was a shoo-in and I kinda thought RDJ's award would go to Matt Damon or Michael Stuhlbarg. Plus, I couldn't believe The Hurt Locker got absolutely no love after such a strong showing at the Critics' Choice Awards. What do you think was the biggest surprise of the night?
