As we were celebrating the 2010 ARIAs in Sydney, the musos from America and Europe gathered in España for the 2010 MTV Europe Music Awards. Russell Brand accompanied his wifey, Katy Perry, who was rocking an unusual half up, half down hairstyle. Eva Longoria Parker played host and switched up her hairstyles so many times, we almost lost count! Taylor Momsen and Ke$ha rocked their signature styles, RiRi rocked a mad beehive, Snooki chose the same eyeshadow shade as Ruby Rose, Jared Leto and Jon Bon were there, as was Miley Cyrus battling it out with Little J for longest hair extensions. Ok, so we'll leave it to Bella to deal with Taylor Momsen's hot mess makeup, but we can talk about her outfit, and in particular THOSE BOOTS. So this is one of Taylor's tried-and-true, exposed underwear+oversized shirt and teeny skirt ensembles — no breaking news there — but we do have some serious time for the Alexander McQueen boots she wore to the MTV EMAs. The over the knee hot steppers are part of McQueen's Fall '10 collection, and were some of the last pieces he designed before his death. We love their intricate, brocade-esque gold carved sole and heel, and have a soft spot for the ankle legth version in particular (which you can nab at Browns). What's your take, do the boots salvage Ms Momsen's black on black get up, or is just more of the same ol' Momsen for you?

Ke$ha was on hand at the 2010 MTV EMA's, cleverly coordinating her satin flares with the purple carpet. Seems she's in on the 70s trend (as seen at Marc Jacobs S/S '10 show) but instead of working her flares with a disco vibe, Ke$sha has clearly gone the goth-rock path instead. Rip-torn tee teamed with layered chain necklaces...hmmm looks like Ke$ha's been borrowing from Taylor Momsen's wardrobe. What's your take on her glam rock look? Love it or loathe it?

When it comes to the red carpet, celebs do one of two things: try something totally new and different (to mixed response) or stick with their signature style (to mixed response). Taylor Momsen does the latter. Save for some red eyeshadow, I've never seen Little J wear anything other than black shadow that covers her entire socket, blood red lipstick and the LONGEST hair extensions in the world. Last night's award ceremony was no different, though she did add a little bronze shadow into the mix to lighten things up. Despite the length, her hair did look in good condition and hair streaks were spotted on the runway at Cynthia Rowley so Taylz's ones could be considered fashion-forward, no? Ke$ha was colourful as she picked up her best new act gong at the MTV EMAs. Lady Gaga won three awards, including best female and best song, though she didn't attend.
Justin Bieber hosted the online coverage of the show via satellite link from the US and also was awarded two trophies.
Hayley Williams picked up best alternative for her band Paramore, and Katy Perry also got to take home an award as well as her new hubby Russell Brand. To check out the full list of winners, just read more.
Seriously hot guys were in Madrid tonight for the MTV EMAs. Russell Brand was with his wife Katy Perry, while Jared Leto had his band 30 Seconds to Mars with him. Shakira, Shakira! Hips sure don't lie in a sequinned-spangled frock like this. Seems that metallics are getting a work out the world over, with Sia working gold and Carmen Electra opting for silver metallic numbers at last night's ARIA Awards too. S'pose shiny and short is a bit of a no-brainer for a music awards ceremony. Shakira's gone for a metal medley of gold, silver and bronze for her plunging number, and has teamed her sexy frock with simple-as, black sling back pumps. What's your take on this sparkly number? You can always rely on Ke$ha to bring her own kind of glam rock to the party. And it usually involves glitter. No change for last night's MTV EMAs where the "Tik Tok" singer took bedhead and backcombing to the extreme — if you want to recreate a similar style but your hair's too squeaky clean, dry shampoo is your friend. It'll help give the matte, "unkempt" texture that you want, as well as adding volume. Ke$ha wore a black kohl and gold glitter combo around the eyes and finished with red lipstick. It might not be your every day style, but what do you think?

We know that Miley Cyrus hearts her hair extensions — she lasted all of about 27 seconds without them earlier this year; OK about 10 days — and that she's willing to spend the big bucks on them, so it was sad to see them looking a little on the straggly side last night. Because normally they're in such great condition. Hmmm. Maybe it's time to get a lob again, Miles? The hot young thing pulled it back with her makeup though, going super-simple for last night's awards proving that a little smoky eye and pink gloss are really all a girl needs. Like?
