Chanel hosted a dinner party that drew an eclectic crowd last night as part of the Tribeca Film Festival. Chloe Sevigny, Rose Byrne, and Naomi Watts were among the big-screen stars who attended the event at the Odeon restaurant in NYC, while Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, Zoe Kravitz, and Lauren Hutton were among the models. From the art world, both Jeff Koons and Julian Schnabel were on hand. The French fashion house dressed several of its guests, including Naomi, who brought her mother as her date for the evening out. Chanel has had a major presence at this year's festival, with Karl Lagerfeld premiering a series of Magnum ice cream ads starring one of his many muses, Rachel Bilson, last week.
Julia Roberts switched up her hair colour yet again, debuting a much lighter hue than what she's been wearing lately. While Julia often plays around with hair colour, she almost always lets her signature shade of red shine through, sporting everything from auburn to copper to strawberry blonde. At the premiere of Jesus Henry Christ at the Tribeca Film Festival over the weekend, it was the latter that she chose to go with this time around. Julia would look gorgeous whatever her hair colour, but which shade do you prefer on her?
There's nothing like a dose of the Olsen twins to get you in the mood for a (long) weekend, is there? Ashley and Mary-Kate both took to the red carpet today for the Tribeca film festival premiere of The Union. We haven't seen the mysterious ladies in what feels like ages, so I'm loving the hefty dose of eclectic boho-cool they're throwing our way. From afar it looks like the girls are working their usual mix of textured elegance, but up close it's all about the accessories that makes these ensembles really special. Gold emblem rings, wooden beads and pearls and ornate earrings all add a touch of unexpected luxe elegance. Wanna see more? Step right this way...
Stars such as Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Zoe Kazan, Paul Dano Anna Kendrick and Zoë Kravitz attended the world premiere of The Union, which also kicked off the tenth Tribeca Film Festival. Before the screening of The Union — a music documentary by Cameron Crowe, who directed Almost Famous — the event held its first ever opening night outdoor community event, which had appearances by Martin Scorsese and Elton John, who also closed the night with a performance of “Your Song.” The Hollywood Reporter says the community event’s purpose was to “hearken back to the original intention of the festival: bringing people together in lower Manhattan with a celebratory, reflective and fun event.”
Celebs toasted the Tribeca Film Festival last night during a cocktail reception at the W Hotel in Hollywood. The event begins on April 20 in NYC, but stars including Malin Akerman, Dax Shepard, Anna Kendrick and Kate Walsh got an early start to the celebration of independent filmmaking at the packed LA party. Malin's Bang Bang Club, which also co-stars Ryan Phillippe, and Kate's Angel's Crest will be among the first movies to screen at this year's fest. Yesterday evening also marked one of Justin Bartha's first public appearances since his split from Ashley Olsen, and The Hangover star was spotted catching up and laughing with friend Zach Braff inside the soirée. Zach will be a featured speaker at Tribeca this year, and fans can already start submitting questions for the Garden State director online.
