Sunday marks the Australian music industry's biggest event — the ARIA Awards. To help you get in the mood, we're taking a look back at last year's biggest beauty moments. International superstar Taylor Swift performed alongside Australian stars Guy Sebastian and Missy Higgins. But, back to the beauty! We saw a trend in navy and metallic — both eyeshadow and eyeliner — and the nails were either really dark (black) or nude. The hair looks included a real mix of sky-high buns à la Ricki-Lee Coulter, and soft, natural waves seen on Samantha Jade and DJ Havana Brown. We loved Jesinta Campbell's foray into pink (temporary!) hair and Taylor Swift's romantic twist chignon. Click through to see all the looks from the 2012 ARIA Awards.
To say it's been a big week might be a bit of an understatement. The 2012 ARIA Awards dominated the Aussie celebrity scene on Thursday night, with the likes of Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Russell Brand and many more turning up to celebrate our music industry's night of nights. Overseas, Katy Perry was a busy girl, first making an appearance at the UNICEF Snowflake charity ball with Selena Gomez, before being given a big honour at the Billboard Women in Music lunch. Miranda Kerr took her little guy Flynn everywhere with her this week (obviously looking uber-stylish, always) and Kate and Wills reminded us that, yes, they are still one of the cutest couples in the world. There was so much to see, it was easy to miss some events this week . . . but don't worry, we've got you covered. Click through the gallery to catch up!

Yesterday’s ARIA Awards gave Australia celebrities plenty to tweet and Instagram about, including Jessica Mauboy, who performed a few times throughout the night and caught up with best female artist winner Kimbra. Another ARIA-nominated act, Guy Sebastian, shared an adorable snap of his son, Hudson, getting into the Movember spirit in the cutest way possible. Meanwhile, Lara Bingle has been holidaying in Mexico with her boyfriend, Gareth Moody, and Jennifer Hawkins tried on some bangs for size at a recent shoot with Myer. Hello, Summer! We're so happy to be capping this hectic week off with a beautiful sunny day. There were two things on our minds this week: the festive season, and the 2012 ARIA Awards. Our office Christmas tree went up and the advent calendars came out as we got into the spirit of things, and as for the ARIAs? PopSugar editor Jess was on the ground at the red carpet, snapping candid shots of Taylor Swift, Reece Mastin and a few Big Brother contestants, while we kept you guys updated online (wait 'til you see what we had for dinner!). Many new beauty products came our way (which BellaSugar ed Alison compiled into cute gift guides) and FabSugar ed Ali had fun trying out some super cool sunglasses. There's plenty more that went on during the week — click through the gallery to check it all out!
The ARIA Awards always have an exciting international line-up but this year they managed to score the golden girl of music, Taylor Swift. Last night she performed and presented at the Sydney Entertainment Centre in front of Australia’s music stars, but first she greeted fans and gave them a shout out on Twitter: "Woah. The fans at the ARIAs came out in full force!! This is INSANE!" In fact her fans have been following her around Sydney since she arrived on Sunday — click through for her Aussie photo diary to see what else she did!
We were so shocked to see one Miss Ruby Rose with long hair last night at the ARIA Awards. The tattooed DJ and presenter rocked twisted cornrows and a punchy orange lip to the event, and we think it's one of her coolest looks to date. The man behind last night's statement hair and makeup is Byron Turnbull, who kindly filled-us in on how to get the look at home. Click through for cool.
As much as we love the focus on the frocks when it comes to red carpet events, we're just as interested in all the little extras that go towards making (or breaking) an outfit. We've zoomed in on all of the celebrity accoutrements from last night's ARIA Awards arrivals so you could see — close up — what the crème de la crème of the Australian music industry (plus Nicki! Plus Taylor!) used to jzush-up their ARIAs ensembles. Ready? Dive on in!
The 2012 ARIA Awards took over the Sydney Entertainment Centre yesterday, with the biggest names in Australian music gathering to honour their peers. It was a night that many thought would belong to Melbourne rapper 360, who had the most nominations with six, but it proved to be Gotye’s night for the second year in a row after he took home album of the year, best male artist and best pop release for his album Making Mirrors. His collaborator on "Somebody That I Used to Know," New Zealand-born Kimbra, won best female artist for the second year in a row, making the duo the first artists win the awards two consecutive years in a row.
The show was filled with plenty of memorable moments. Taylor Swift performed her new single "I Knew You Were Trouble" and also hit the stage a second time to present best male artist with Richard Wilkins. Russell Brand brought his mother on stage for some of his presenting duties, while Nicki Minaj brought lots of colour after rushing to the event from her perfume launch at Myer. 360 and Gossling took to the stage for "Boys Like You" and Lupe Fiasco joined Guy Sebastian for a rendition of their chart-topping, nominated hit "Battle Scars." One Direction won best international act and thanked fans via a video message, where they held up an Australian flag. But perhaps the most poignant part of the show was when stars including Jessica Mauboy, Peter Garrett, Dan Sultan, Paul Kelly and Andrew Farriss sang "Treaty" with Yothu Yindi, who were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.
Bold, bright colour, graphic prints and pale and pretty looks were the top three trends we noticed on the ARIA Awards red carpet. Ricki-Lee Coulter, DJ Havana Brown and Sarah De Bono opted for stand-out colour, while punchy prints were the way forward for Nicki Minaj (in Camilla), Kimbra, Jesinta Campbell and Ruby Rose (via a custom-designed Romance Was Born frock). Then there was the pale and interesting brigade; Taylor Swift's romantic Elie Saab gown and Samantha Jade's sculptural number adding a little elegance to the black carpet. We can't pick a favourite (yet), so we're rounding up all the celebrity looks so that you can make an informed decision. Step inside and see who wore what to the 2012 ARIA Awards.
