Awards season is in full swing! We've already seen many of our favourite stars hitting the red carpet at the People's Choice and the Critics' Choice Awards. The Golden Globes brought out Hollywood's A-list between the arrivals, the show, and the after parties. There have been many other chances for actors, directors, and more to dress up and celebrate 2011's best films. We've rounded up some of our favourite moments from all the fun so far!
The Critics' Choice Awards took place in LA last night and recognised actors, actresses, and films released over the past 12 months. George Clooney took home the top honour of best actor, beating out friends Brad Pitt and Ryan Gosling. He was joined at the event by his girlfriend Stacy Keibler and thanked his fellow The Descendants castmates during his heartfelt acceptance speech. The Help was recognised for outstanding ensemble cast, with Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer each going home with an individual nod for best actress and best supporting actress respectively.
Leonardo DiCaprio took the stage to honour his mentor and film director Martin Scorsese with the Music + Film award and Bob Dylan also paid tribute to Scorsese with a song. Leo brought along his dad George to the dinner, while the actor's girlfriend Erin Heatherton is currently shooting the upcoming Victoria's Secret Summer catalogue. The Artist was the biggest winner of the evening with four awards. Ryan Gosling missed out on the celebratory event, however, his suspenseful flick Drive was crowned best action movie, while Bridesmaids won best comedy and Rango earned the title of best animated film — check out the entire list of Critics' Choice Awards winners! While the stage at today's Critics' Choice Awards saw many memorable moments, there was plenty of excitement in the audience as well. Brad Pitt stopped to chat with his Troy co-star Diane Kruger, while The Help's Emma Stone and Jessica Chastain snapped a sweet picture. Pals Busy Philipps and Michelle Williams checked in on a phone and Charlize Theron met newcomer Chloë Moretz. Click through for all the candid convos inside the show!
The Critics' Choice Awards brought a fun mix of colour and drama to the carpet in LA today. Emma Stone, who joined her The Help co-stars in accepting the best ensemble cast award, continued her green streak with a printed Jason Wu gown, while nominee Elizabeth Olsen also went bright in yellow Pucci. Presenter Diane Kruger mixed things up in Prada, and Busy Philipps was back in front of the cameras in hot pink after also attending yesterday's People's Choice Awards. Best actress winner Viola Davis wowed in a glamorous red look from Raoul.
There was a fair share of black on the grey carpet, including Kirsten Dunst's short, flirty Dior, and Charlize Theron's ruffled Azzedine Alaïa. Evan Rachel Wood, who was nominated for best acting ensemble in The Ides of March, chose a strapless Valentino while The Help's Octavia Spencer went with a black LBD and strappy heels. Melissa McCarthy took the stage in a navy sequinned number when she and the Bridesmaids cast won for best comedy.
Bright neutrals made an appearance this evening as well with best actress nominee Michelle Williams hitting the carpet in a Chanel gown and presenter Mindy Kaling donning a simple asymmetrical dress. Stacy Keibler arrived on the arm of boyfriend George Clooney in a dramatic white Giorgio Armani gown and Marchesa clutch. Rounding out all the lovely looks was The Descendants' Shailene Woodley in a slinky silver Calvin Klein. There was so much amazing fashion and beauty at the show, so make sure to weigh in on your favourites in Fab and Bella's polls!

If we're honest we were a little disappointed by the lack of talon trends at the Critics' Choice Awards. In comparison to yesterday's People's Choice Awards, today's manicures tended to rehash old trends (yes, greige, we're pointing the finger at you) or play things safe. Diane Kruger did add a little flair to the line-up with subtle glitter but that was the most out-there look.
While the People's Choice Awards may have been privy to the technicolour invasion, we were flush with bright pastels at tonight's Critics' Choice Awards. Hollywood's leading ladies opted for candy-coloured hues, which made for a playfully fun and whimsical red-carpet rundown. Elizabeth Olsen radiated in a sunshine-yellow beaded Pucci minidress and nude peep-toes; Diane Kruger flawlessly executed a bright mixture of greys and canary yellows in a floor-length Prada creation and added a hot-pink clutch as the cherry on top; and Jessica Chastain went soft and pretty with a cotton-candy-pink Balenciaga gown. These bright pastels allow for streamlined accessories, fresh-faced makeup, and, of course, killer shoes; and because of its styling simplicity, we think this is just the beginning of this Spring-inspired colour scheme's appeal. At the Critics' Choice Awards, one sweeping trend managed to connect our red (er, grey) carpet beauties. Minimalist chic was a recurring theme for some stars, who ditched yesterday's People's Choice Awards' bright, bold hues in order to display cool spins on a graphic black and white colour palette instead — making for an evening of undeniably classic, ladylike looks. From Shailene Woodley's sexy, understated Calvin Klein to Tilda Swinton's suited-up swagger, click through now to see how celebs made the most of a timeless trend.
It was a big day for The Help and an even bigger one for The Artist at the Critics' Choice Awards today. The Artist scored best picture and best director for Michel Hazanavicius, while Octavia Spencer and Viola Davis took home matching actress trophies for The Help (along with best acting ensemble). As for the men, George Clooney took home best leading actor for The Descendants, while Christopher Plummer was honoured as best supporting actor for Beginners.
It's just the beginning of what's sure to be a very exciting awards season, which continues on Monday with the Golden Globes (fill out our printable ballot here to keep track of your predictions). Until then, check out the full list of Critics' Choice winners when you keep reading.
This year's Critics' Choice Awards saw some sultry eye looks, some intricate up 'dos and some pretty waves, but if we had to narrow it down to one evident beauty trend, we'd say it was bold lips. Kirsten Dunst picked a vivid rose pink lipstick while Diane Kruger sported a more muted, matte variation of the tone. Meanwhile Busy Phillips opted for a watermelon shade.
That's a wrap for the 2012 Critics' Choice Awards. You can see all the red carpet action here, vote on your favourite frocks and best beauty looks and now check out three intricate up 'dos that caught our eye — Charlize Theron's crossover braided bun, Diane Kruger's "undone" up 'do and Evan Rachel Wood's twirled crop — and see the detailing ion each style from every angle.
