Sugar Diary: Our Week in Pics

It was all happening in Fashion Land this week, as we busied ourselves with the David Jones and Myer Spring/Summer 2013 collection launches on Tuesday and Thursday nights respectively.

It was all happening in Fashion Land this week, as we busied ourselves with the David Jones and Myer Spring/Summer 2013 collection launches on Tuesday and Thursday nights respectively. We got to speak to all of our favourite Aussie models, and we're very happy to report that they're as lovely and gorgeous in real life as we'd hoped! Spying all the beautiful new-season threads on the catwalk and at launches has got us absolutely pining for spring (seriously, isn't winter over already?), which saw not one, but two, of the Sugar editors bust out their legs in the office. Thankfully, it's only a matter of time before everyone follows suit. In other news, some die-hard Spice Girls fans were borderline hysterical when the modern-day fab five hit the stage at the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony (can't believe it's all over, sob!), and FabSugar nearly went into meltdown when the one and only Miss Moss hit the stage. It's all in here and more, so get clicking and check out a week in the lives of the Sugar editors.

See the Supermodels Strut at the London Olympics Closing Ceremony

We're not that sports-mad, but the London Olympics closing ceremony truly blew us away this morning thanks to a short but sweet catwalk show, paying tribute to the icons of the British fashion industry.

We're not that sports-mad, but the London Olympics closing ceremony truly blew us away this morning thanks to a short but sweet catwalk show, paying tribute to the icons of the British fashion industry. Britain's most beautiful models stormed the stadium in solid-gold looks from the UK's most celebrated designers. Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell both smouldered in Alexander McQueen, Stella Tennant worked a striking Christopher Kane suit, Karem Elson donned Burberry, Lily Donaldson was princess-perfect in Vivienne Westwood, Lily Cole was ethereal in Erdem, Jourdan Dunn wore Jonathan Saunders sheath topped off with a Stephen Jones headpiece, David Gandy looked dapper in Paul Smith and Georgia May Jagger was ultra-cute in Victoria Beckham. Phew! What a role call! Step this way to get your front row ticket to this year's most extravagant fashion show, courtesy of the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony.

Snoop Kate Middleton's Entire Olympics Wardrobe, Day-By-Day!

Confession time; we've been a little more interested in keeping track of Kate Middleton's Olympic outfits rather than the Aussie medal tally.

Confession time; we've been a little more interested in keeping track of Kate Middleton's Olympic outfits rather than the Aussie medal tally. But, really, can you blame us when HRH consistently looks so chic, day after day? Catherine always looks immaculate, but it's the way that she's combined patriotism and style that's made us sit up and take note. Her simple tricks? Take Princess-perfect staples like ladylike day-dresses and tailored blazers in a Brit-approved colour palette of blue, red and white, throw in some Kate-classics like skinny J Brand jeans, streamlined clutch bags and an espadrille or two, then finish with the royal blow-dry. Voila! An essay in how to support the country in style. Step inside to snoops Kate's Olympic wardrobe, from her nifty tennis whites through 'til this morning's closing ceremony extravaganza (for which she went  for high street chic in a Whistles dress), we don't what's cuter — her logo-ed polos or her "C'mon Team GB" face!

The Spice Girls Reunite in Style for the London Olympics Closing Ceremony

If the supermodel pack won gold for their catwalking prowess at the London Olympics closing ceremony this morning, we'd have to award a silver to the Spice Girls and their chic on-stage ensembles.

If the supermodel pack won gold for their catwalking prowess at the London Olympics closing ceremony this morning, we'd have to award a silver to the Spice Girls and their chic on-stage ensembles. The girl group who defined the '90s reunited for an energetic performance, with Scary, Sporty, Ginger, Baby and Posh zooming around the Olympic stadium atop their own black London taxi cabs. Of course, it was what the Spicies wore that got our attention first and foremost — Victoria Beckham surprisingly didn't wear one of her own designs, instead opting for a business-at-the-front, party-at-the-back black gown by Giles Deacon. Mel C looked chic and sporty in a crisp jumpsuit, Emma Bunton looked suitably sweet in a hot pink frock with sequinned sleeves, Mel B was sparkilicous thanks to Zuhair Murad and Geri Halliwell paid tribute to her famous Union Jack dress via a bustle on her LRD. It was glam, it was fast, it was fun! Can we get a zig-a-zig-ahh?

Kate Moss & Naomi Campbell — The Models at the Closing Ceremony

We have to admit, the moment the supermodels walked out into the stadium at the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics this morning — the Sugar office went into a spin.

We have to admit, the moment the supermodels walked out into the stadium at the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics this morning — the Sugar office went into a spin. We were screaming and clapping (hey, they are icons), and I think there was even a "Shut. Up." uttered at one point. Kate Moss looked every inch the sex kitten with big hair, smoky eyes and amazingly contoured cheeks (hello cheekbone envy); and Naomi Campbell wore her long, black hair straight. The other models included Georgia May Jagger, Lily Cole, Lily Donaldson, Karen Elson and Stella Tennant — who were all dressed in iconic British designers and came into the stadium in huge trucks featuring their own image. Stay tuned!

It was the moment the world had been waiting for: the reunion of the Spice Girls at the London Olympics closing ceremony! Their appearance had been rumoured for weeks and photos of the girls rehearsing over the weekend confirmed they’d be among the line-up of celebrated British music acts. Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Melanie Chrisholm (Sporty Spice), Mel B (Scary Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) and Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) arrived in taxis bearing the number plate ‘SPICE’ and first sang their memorable hit “Wannabe.” Then they launched into “Spice Up Your Life” as they rode atop the taxis around the stadium.
