Shop: The Boots Everyone At MBFWA Is talking About

When Alex Perry's models hit the runway at the 2013 MBFWA last night, it wasn't just the beautiful dresses everyone was talking about — those divine Tony Bianco boots were one of the biggest hits of day one of fashion week, if not the biggest, with Phoebe Tonkin just one star to mention them on social media.

And here's the ace news: these thigh-high leg lengtheners are available to shop, right now, at Tony Bianco's online store, in the label's Melbourne and Sydney boutiques, or at Shopstyle. The boots are made to order (how luxe!) and come in blush or black suede. Decisions, decisions. . .

Alex Perry is one of the most highly anticipated shows during Australian fashion week, and just as the models hit the runway, we've got the backstage scoop. In line with Alex's new, more masculine direction, Napoleon Perdis went sports luxe for the makeup look. There's more contouring — a very big trend for the shows — but this time he's kept a subtle radiance on the skin. Ghd's Sophie Roberts gave us a breakdown of the amazingly wearable hair, get clicking.

A First Look at the 2013 Fashion Week Schedule

The international fashion weeks are done and dusted, which means it's time to turn our attention back to local designers for our own week of new season style.

The international fashion weeks are done and dusted, which means it's time to turn our attention back to local designers for our own week of new season style. Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia (try saying that three times fast whilst balancing an SLR and gulping down a skim latte), is a mere 26 sleeps away, and given fashion week's new digs in Redfern we're mighty intrigued to see how the industry — ourselves included — will cope with the change. The schedule is looking a little different this year too, with noticeable gaps left by Zimmermann (waaaaaah), Dion Lee (nooooo), Josh Goot (sniff) and Magdalena Valevska (say it ain't so).

However... Alex Perry is back, as is Zambesi after ten years playing away games. Camilla and Marc will open proceedings on Monday morning  commemorating their tenth anniversary in the biz, while the usually reclusive Easton Pearson duo will stand under the spotlight thanks to a Mercedes Benz Presents show. Fresh fashion week faces are set to include Vanishing Elephant, Staple the Label and Serpent & the Swan, while  thankfully  rising stars Christopher Esber, Michael Lo Sordo and Watson X Watson will be back on deck.

Did you see Jessica Mauboy at the AACTA Awards last night?

Did you see Jessica Mauboy at the AACTA Awards last night? She was lookin' hot, as per usual, but there was one particular feature in her ensemble that captured our attention immediately — her Alex Perry for Magnolia drop earrings. Long earrings are nothing new, we know, but we're seeing an all new side to them. Gone are the days of chandeliers so wide they cover half your face — drop earrings now are daintier, more '40s-inspired and in an array of beautiful stones and colours we can't get enough of. Like what you've seen so far? We've pulled 10 of our best picks into this gallery — including the ones Jess wore last night — so click through and start shopping!

What a night! PopSugar was front and centre on last night's AACTA Awards red carpet, soaking up all of the celebrity arrivals. Mega-watt star power came from ex-pats Nicole Kidman who wore a floral-motif Erdem frock, Fred Leighton jewels and Brian Atwood heels, while Cate Blanchett turned up the glam factor in a scarlet sequinned gown from Armani Privé's A/W '09 collection. Local stars turned to local designers in droves; Jessica Mauboy looked elegant not one but two Steven Khalil designs, Michala Banas sparkled in Rachel Gilbert, Megan Gale looked chic thanks to her custom Alex Perry, Alyssa McClelland was gorgeous in Magdalena Valevska, Jessica McNamee was streamlined in Carl Kapp, Pia Miranda looked adorbs in Collette Dinnigan, Elizabeth Debicki was pristine courtesy of Thurley and Charlotte Best got glam in Danielle Stephanie. Our favourites? It's a close call between Sophie Lowe in Scanlan & Theodore's luxe leather creation and and Gracie Otto in Gucci's chartreuse S/S '13 strapless confection. It may have been the weekend but Jennifer Hawkins, Alex Perry and Charlotte Dawson were busy with work as they hit Sydney's Pitt Street Mall for the latest round of Australia's Next Top Model auditions on Saturday. The show's judges, along with IMG Model agency reps, sat through hours of girls trying their luck at being the next Montana Cox, winner of the 2011 series who has gone on to international success. Jennifer has also spoken about what she'll be like as the show's new host, following in the stylish footsteps of Sarah Murdoch. Jen told the Sunday Telegraph, "My approach is to be just honest with the contestants and to give them constructive criticism so they can move forward and do something about it. I don't want to be too nice because that's annoying and I don't want to be too mean because that's annoying as well." After Alex tweeted about their "AMAZING" day in Sydney, the trio will be at Westfield Parramatta today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for another round of auditions.
