Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson were spotted leaving JFK Airport in NYC today after a brief stay in the city. The Breaking Dawn Part 2 stars arrived on the weekend after enjoying some downtime in London following a busy European press tour that saw them travel to Spain and Germany — today Kristen was wearing the same jacket she changed into for the UK premiere after party. The actress wore some different and dramatic looks to promote the final instalment in the Twilight Saga, and her stylist, Tara Swennen, talked about Kristen’s evolving red carpet style, even touching on Kristen’s penchant for teaming sneakers with designer gowns. Tara said, “She’ll always change into her Converse by halfway through a carpet, which is to be expected at this point, but she puts on the heels for me for the photos.”
As Kristen Stewart's Breaking Dawn Part 2 red carpet appearances come to an end, we're paying tribute to the two gold dresses she wore to separate premieres last week. Metallic is quite the thing and it's the perfect look to try over the silly season — because no office Christmas party is complete without a sexy, smoky eye! But if you're less about the eyes and bright lips and more about nails, then liquid gold is the perfect polish choice for you. It looks expensive and will complement any outfit, a win-win, really. Click through to see some of our favourite gold nail polishes, and don't forget the glossy top coat. Ya hear?
Kristen Stewart has come a long way since her red-carpet appearances for Twilight back in '08. That was then, and now, the 22-year-old actress has since been causing quite a sartorial stir with all of her recent skin-baring ensembles at her recent Breaking Dawn Part 2 appearances. Stewart's stylist Tara Swennen, who has been working with the actress since '07, had something to do with all of that sexiness. "It took a lot of balls for her to wear that dress, so I'm super-proud of her," said Swennen, referring to the sheer lace Zuhair Murad gown Stewart wore to the premiere of Breaking Dawn Part 2 in LA. The stylist also recently dished on why Kristen won't wear jewellery, her affinity for wearing Chucks on the red carpet, and her evolving style. Read below for the highlights, then head over to The Cut for the complete interview.
On Kristen's Breaking Dawn Part 2 red-carpet choices: Twilight is coming to a close, so we wanted to do stronger looks. Just recently, she’s embraced doing the long-gown thing, so it was definitely an opportunity for me to stick as many as I could on her. We just wanted to make a grand escape, I guess, rather than a grand entrance . . . we like making sure that we push boundaries on every carpet. On Kristen wearing Converse on the red carpet: She’ll always change into her Converse by halfway through a carpet, which is to be expected at this point, but she puts on the heels for me for the photos. On Kristen's jewellery and the necklace she always wears: She doesn’t have her ears pierced, still, so it’s a running joke that when she’s 25, I’ll finally get her in jewellery . . . her jewellery is jewellery that tends to stay on her only because it has sentimental value to her, whether it’s from friends or family . . . It’s her second skin, essentially, at this point. On Kristen's evolving red-carpet style: She’s grown into being more comfortable on the red carpet; she’s definitely embracing elegance and gracefulness. Obviously I’ve been able to push more on her, but I think her confidence level is really the thing that’s changed the most over the years.
It's been a big week for premieres this time round, with two major films each being introduced on opposite sides of the world. In Los Angeles, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson took to the red carpet to promote final Twilight film, Breaking Dawn Part 2, while over here in Sydney Daniel Craig and his leading ladies Naomie Harris and Berenice Marlohe showed off new Bond film, Skyfall. It wasn't just premiere's keeping celebrities busy — we watched Taylor Swift do her thing on stage at the MTV Europe Music Awards while her ex, Jake Gyllenhaal, showed off his mystery girlfriend as they held hands walking around New York. Then there was the fashionable event that was the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards (where Emma Stone was a total knockout) and a sighting of the cute Garner-Affleck family — sans one member. There's a whole lot more to see, so click through and catch up on the week that was!
While Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart made the rounds in Madrid, their co-stars kept busy with the Breaking Dawn Part 2 premiere in NYC. Twihards everywhere finally got the long-anticipated finale to the Twilight Saga when it hit cinemas on Thursday, but we've been more preoccupied with what the film's cast are wearing on the red carpet. Yesterday, starlets Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, and Elizabeth Reaser bared a decidedly sexier side, with their respective gowns and party dresses. Ashley showed off a moody Donna Karan Atelier gown with a figure-flaunting bustier, while Nikki turned up the glamour in a fringed and beaded Naeem Khan confection. But it wasn't just about the film's leading vampires ladies — celebs like Nicky Hilton, Rachel Roy, and Lindsay Ellingson glammed up to celebrate the final Twilight chapter. Click on to see who wore what — then tell us your pick for best dressed in the comments.
The Twilight trio, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner, teamed up for a white-carpet arrival at the Berlin screening of Breaking Dawn Part 2 last night. Kristen sashayed into the theatre wearing a gold gown by Elie Saab paired with strappy Christian Louboutin stilettos. It's the second metallic look we've seen her in this week, after wowing in a custom Zuhair Murad gown at Monday's LA premiere. Rob, Kristen, and Taylor are saying farewell to fans around the globe, but back at home they're prepping to take the top spot at the box office this weekend. Early estimates suggest the fifth installment in the Twilight franchise will take in upward of $130 million during opening weekend, and they're off to a strong start with Thursday night's midnight showings earning $30.4 million. Kristen's had great success at the box office in 2012, which could be just one of the many reasons she's reportedly close to signing a deal to star in Ben Affleck's next project. Kristen and Ben are both loosely attached to Focus, the story of a grifter who connects with a young woman and teaches her the ropes of conning.
The arrival of Breaking Dawn Part 2 signifies the end of an era. Since Twilight debuted four years ago, the vampire craze has waned significantly. And even though vampires supposedly never age, there exist a few noticeable differences in the looks of our favourite undead cast. So in honour of the franchise's last hurrah, see how each character has been updated beauty-wise.
Kristen Stewart's latest Breaking Dawn Part 2 promo tour outfit is another testament to her sexy premiere style: a gold sequined Elie Saab gown — with a thigh-high slit. She gave it her own styling edge with a pair of strappy Christian Louboutin booties and finished with an unfussy, high ponytail for another quintessentially Kristen ensemble. The statement-making choices keep on coming, which seems only appropriate in honour of the last Twilight film. Click through for an all-angles look at her latest appearance — then, be sure to catch up on the rest of her promo tour outfits, which include even more leg-baring minidresses from the likes of Peter Pilotto, A.L.C., and Louis Vuitton.
Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner were game for an appearance on Spanish variety show El Hormiguero yesterday. They played games and joked around while promoting Breaking Dawn Part 2. Kristen was on the program earlier this year as well, as she talked up Snow White and the Huntsman with Charlize Theron. It was a busy day in Madrid for the trio, who also stepped out for a photocall this morning and a premiere tonight. Kristen wore a ladylike black and white dress and later changed into a bright yellow number. It's been a whirlwind few days for the stars after kicking off the week with the Breaking Dawn Part 2 premiere in LA and then heading straight to London, where they hit the red carpet on Thursday.
