Celebrity Apprentice Premieres Tonight - See Candid Photos the Cast Have Shared

The Celebrity Apprentice returns to screens tonight for the premiere of its 2013 series. A new batch of social media-savvy stars have documented challenges, behind-the-scenes antics, photo shoot candids and party time on their accounts, which has changed the way the show works since the 2011 series that turned winner Julia Morris into a star. Obviously social media is vital for getting fans, crowds and clients to challenges so the stars can raise as much money as possible for charity. But if you pay close attention to the photos, you can work out who’s been ‘fired’ (eliminated) because they’re not in as many pictures . . . Series two of The Celebrity Apprentice is in its second week, and just like the first series, it’s got people talking. (The most recent conversation point? 2011 Sugar Awards: Vote For the Best Reality TV Show!

Today’s category is a big one: reality TV. Whether you tuned in or switched off, it was impossible to avoid - especially the programs that aired up to six nights a week. The newcomer in the group is The Celebrity Apprentice Australia, which was a huge success for Channel Nine; The Block also did wonders for their ratings. From Channel Seven, the big hits were The X Factor, Australia’s Got Talent and Beauty and the Geek, while Network Ten offered up new servings of MasterChef and The Biggest Loser: Families. Last night’s grand final episode of The Celebrity Apprentice Australia may have been about determining who the winner of the inaugural series was - the delightful Julia Morris - but it also featured a lot of Deni Hines, who emerged as the show’s “villain” from early episodes. From her refusal to acknowledge The Block winner Polly Porter as a celebrity, to not wanting to ruin her “brand,” to her issues with former Miss Universe Jesinta Campbell, Deni didn’t hold back. Here are some of the controversial things she said on camera during the series:

In the boardroom after being called out for not writing a KFC jingle
“Mr. Bouris, I really have a problem. I write songs for a living. That’s my job. And I just didn’t feel that I could write a song for something I fully don’t believe in. I’m a vegetarian . . . I have a brand to protect. Mine is music. And that’s what I do. And if that’s what gets me fired, then so be it, because I can’t do that.”

Julia Morris Is the Winner of Celebrity Apprentice 2011!

Julia Morris is the first ever winner of The Celebrity Apprentice Australia! The comedian was awarded the title - as well as $100,000 for her charity, the National Breast Cancer Foundation - after her success in a challenge to create a TVC and print campaign for host Mark Bouris’ company Yellow Brick Road. With the help of ex-contestants Max Markson and Polly Porter, Julia worked with runner-up Jason Coleman to produce an entertaining TVC that impressed Mr. Bouris and his advisers. The opposing team, Team Unity headed by Jesinta Campbell and Shane Crawford, were fired because their print campaign was missing an all-important phone number. When it came down to announcing the winner, Mr. Bouris said the best celebrity apprentice had brought “intensity, passion, drive and focus” to the series. After accepting the cheque for her charity, Julia - who raised more than $150,000 over the course of the show - generously asked Mr. Bouris if he could split the money between both her charity and Jason’s, The Song Room - and Australia fell even more in love with the comic. Congrats to Julia on a well-deserved win!

Deni Hines the Latest Fired From Celebrity Apprentice Australia

Deni Hines is the latest celebrity to be fired by Mark Bouris on The Celebrity Apprentice Australia. As the project manager for Monday night’s challenge, in which the contestants had to raise money for charity through an art auction, Deni was automatically in the firing line in the boardroom because the girls, Team Ignite, failed to raise as much as Team Unity. She brought Pauline “Mumma P” Hanson and Lisa Curry into the elimination with her, and was fired because she hadn’t managed her team properly and was disorganised. Deni, for her part, can’t wait for the show to be over. She told the Daily Telegraph, “I can’t wait for this sh*t to get off the air, so people can stop picking on me.” She’s also not watching the show because “I lived it.” Her short-lived time on the program has seen her on the receiving end of viewer criticism and outrage due to her apparent ‘bullying’ of fellow contestant Polly Porter, and her refusal to sing a jingle during a KFC challenge because she was “protecting my brand.”
