There were so many big events that had celebrities tweeting and Instagramming all around the world, from the Cannes Film Festival to Australian soirees. Delta Goodrem prepared for a rainy Sydney week with a big umbrella, while Jesinta Campbell and Stephanie Rice made it out of the wet and into a cosy cinema to watch the premiere of The Great Gatsby in style. Erin Gleave (née McNaught) soaked up the sun and beautiful views on her honeymoon with new husband Example, and Lincoln Lewis attended the Million Paws Walk in Brisbane and was stoked to see a pup dressed in a hot dog costume!
Fresh from wowing international press on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival, it wasn’t long before Megan Gale was back in front of the cameras after returning to Australia. The model, in Dion Lee, joined her fellow David Jones ambassadors and a host of local celebrities to celebrate David Jones’ 175th birthday at a black tie gala held at the Sydney store last night. Perth-born beauty Jessica Gomes, who replaced Miranda Kerr as a brand ambassador a few months ago, stunned in a backless design, and Jason Dundas, Montana Cox, Gai Waterhouse and Emma Freedman — all part of the DJs family — all brought their star power to the event.
VIP guests including Delta Goodrem, Jesinta Campbell, Stephanie Rice, Rachael Finch and Michael Miziner, Charlotte Dawson and David Jones’ stable of designers witnessed the launch of a commemorative exhibition that celebrates the department store’s history. They also toasted the occasion with lots of champagne, canapés, and a dessert and cheese station.
Last night marked the 175th birthday for the iconic Australian retailer, David Jones. Many of our favourite Aussie beauties —including David Jones ambassador Megan Gale, Jesinta Campbell and Jessica Gomes — flocked to the black-tie, cocktail event to join in on the big birthday bash. Off-the-face hair and smoky, accentuated eyes were the trend of the night, paired with a glossy red or nude lip — timeless beauty classics!
It may have been raining last night at Sydney, but that didn't put a dampener on the glamour on show at Moore Park's Entertainment Quarter for the much anticipated premiere of The Great Gatsby. The official invitation asked "a hint of 1920s" from the A-list guest list, and deliver they did — some getting more into the theme than others. Leading ladies Carey Mulligan and Elizabeth Debicki took a more relaxed approach to the dress code, donning a Nina Ricci bustier and Lanvin trousers, and full-skirted floral Christian Dior respectively. Others, like Emma Freedman, Kerri-Anne Kennerley and Deborah Hutton, got right into character in flapper-esque dresses with plenty of sparkle.
The middle of the road approach looked the chicest to us; best exemplified by Laura Dundovic, Delta Goodrem, Kate Peck, Alice Burdeu and Jesinta Campbell who added who paid subtle tributes to the era via headpieces, antique lace, deco shapes or metallic fabrications. Good work, girls! This is one red carpet round-up you don't want to miss — step inside to zoom in on all the razzle-dazzle!

Leading stars Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire and Elizabeth Debicki were in attendance, along with local celebrities Delta Goodrem, Stephanie Rice and Jesinta Campbell. It's time for our weekly installment of the best, funniest, weirdest celebrity tweets. . . and this week we were spoiled for choice! Whether it was Anna Kendrick lamenting her spelling errors, Megan Gale standing up for one of her fellow Australians, Jimmy Fallon sending rather random thank-you notes, or Delta Goodrem avoiding social media for one very good reason, we were entertained and sometimes bewildered (thanks, Samuel L. Jackson) by these 140-character messages from some of our favourite celebs . . .
Have you been wondering what some of your favourite Australian celebrities have been up to? Thanks to social media, we all know! Delta Goodrem had a great time at Thursday night’s jam session to celebrate the live shows of The Voice kicking off next week, while Jennifer Hawkins was whisked away to a gorgeous island location for a photo shoot. Reece Mastin and Rhiannon Fish cuddled up at Joel Madden’s housewarming party event, and Miranda Kerr got cuddles from her favourite little man, her son Flynn, on Mother’s Day.
They’ve been the subject of hook-up rumours on this year’s series of The Voice, but based on the past few episodes it seems like there’s a different kind of tension between coaches Delta Goodrem and Seal. During the talent show’s recent Showdown episodes, the two singers haven’t seen eye-to-eye when giving feedback on the other’s contestants — obviously all the coaches are fiercely protective of the talent on their teams, but Seal and Delta’s disagreement over certain contestants, such as Seal’s artist Jac Stone, led to some unkind comments that never made the TV edit.
According to the Daily Telegraph, after Jac’s rendition of the song “Luka” on the episode that aired on Monday night, the coaches huddled together for their usual post-performance chatter and Delta said she thought Jac had gone a bit overboard with her expressions during the song, to which Seal apparently snapped, “You do that.” The comment never made it to air as it’s not in the positive spirit of the show.

Special occasion days on social media have become an opportunity to whip out blast from the past photos, which is exactly what celebrities did to celebrate Mother’s Day! Aussie beauties including Rachael Finch, Jesinta Campbell and Ricki-Lee Coulter went back into their photo albums to express their gratitude for their mums. If people weren’t bringing back shots from the archives they were at least posting pictures of their usually-camera-shy mums — even Lara Bingle tweeted, “Can't wait to see what everyone's moms look like on Instagram!” And of course the celebrities who have already experienced motherhood, like models Miranda Kerr and Alessandra Ambrosio, sent their love to fellow mothers around the world. The Met Gala took place earlier this week and lots of celebrities shared photos from the fashionable event, and then quickly got on with their usual lives with more updates on social media. Jackie O was thrilled to finally meet her idol, Gwyneth Paltrow, in NYC, while Laura Dundovic graduated from uni with her psychology degree. Rhiannon Fish and Jodi Gordon participated in Nike’s She Runs the Night event, and Delta Goodrem shared a silly selfie from the set of The Voice, which moved into its Showdown phase this week.
