Jennifer Garner made a red-carpet appearance with the cast of Butter at the NYC premiere on Thursday night. She chose a strapless Gucci gown for the occasion, which came after attending a press conference earlier in the day. Jennifer had Ashley Greene; Olivia Wilde, in Alexander McQueen; and Ty Burrell by her side for both events. Co-star Alicia Silverstone missed out on the promotional stop but joined them for the screening and later at the afterparty sponsored by Appleton Estate Rum. Jennifer, Alicia, and Olivia mingled with Harvey Weinstein at Double Seven, where they celebrated their premiere. While Jennifer is working in NYC, her husband, Ben Affleck, is on the West Coast. He attended a charity dinner on Monday night and was spotted grabbing lunch on his motorcycle on Thursday.
We've just said goodbye to an exciting 2011, and now it's time to look forward to the next 12 months! With another year comes a handful of hot actors whose stars are on the rise. There are some up-and-comers we're particularly excited to follow. Max Irons and Damon Wayans Jr. learned the tricks of the trade from their famous fathers Jeremy and Damon, while Chris Pratt starred opposite another famous dad, Brad Pitt, in Moneyball. Michael Fassbender received critical acclaim for his recent work, and nude scenes, in Shame, and Henry Cavill is sure to captivate audiences with his acting chops and six-pack in Man of Steel. British imports Dominic Cooper and Sam Claflin are noteworthy leading men, while Canadian Suits star Patrick Adams just picked up a SAG nomination for his small screen role. So, tell us — which guy do you want to see more of this year?
Amanda Seyfried graces the April cover of US Elle wearing a striped dress reminiscent of Hailee Steinfeld's SAG Awards gown. The Red Riding Hood star gives a candid interview in the pages of the magazine, opening up about her past relationships with Dominic Cooper and Alexander Skarsgård. The actress, who attended the premiere of her dark new film in LA last night, also talks about what it was like to lock lips with the likes of her Now co-star Justin Timberlake. Here are some highlights:
- On kissing on the silver screen: “I can’t lie. It didn’t suck making out with Channing [Tatum] and Justin [Timberlake].”
- On how Dominic Cooper's previous girlfriend led to their breakup: “I was just kind of foolishly thinking that the two of them were done and Dom and I were involved. But we weren’t really as involved as I thought. So I got my heart broken pretty hard. After that, it’s really hard to open myself up to a new person. Really hard.”
- On another famous ex, Alexander Skarsgård: “We dated. He’s superfunny, but I was too involved with Dom.”
- On her reported new love Ryan Phillippe: “Um, yeah. I’ve been ‘seen’ with him.”
There's a British invasion happening in Hollywood at the moment. Earlier this week we learned that English actor Henry Cavill would be starring as Superman in the reboot, The Social Network star Andrew Garfield is heating up every award season red carpet, and Tom Sturridge stars opposite Rachel Bilson in Waiting For Forever. They're just some of the handsome guys from overseas who are making a big impact. Check out these up-and-coming British actors!
January Jones and Dominic Cooper stepped out for a dinner hosted by Donatella Versace at The Connaught in London last week. January rocked a daring backless dress and wore her hair in a bun as she mingled with the designer, Dominic, and British celebs like Alexa Chung at the intimate event, which raised funds for Central St. Martins. The actress is in the midst of a hiatus from her TV series, Mad Men, but she'll soon kick off a new, film-heavy phase in her career. She co-stars in the upcoming X-Men: First Class, and her thriller Unknown hits the big screen next year.
The stars of Tamara Drewe attended a screening of their film in NYC last night. Just like at the London premiere, co-stars Dominic Cooper and Luke Evans hung out together at the afterparty, and mucked about with Gemma Arterton, who wore a strapless black draped dress. Krysten Ritter also attended the screening wearing a cute knit dress.
After all the celebrities walked the red carpet at the GQ UK Men of the Year Awards last night, they headed inside for the ceremony. Breakthrough Talent winner Ed Westwick posed with Lily Allen, while Woman of the Year Gemma Arterton cosied up with Nicholas Hoult. Noel Gallagher congratulated Jason Statham on his Editor's Special Award and Damon Albarn posed with Gorillaz's gong for Best Band. Martin Scorsese presented Giorgio Armani with his statue for Designer of the Year. Plenty of couples were celebrating too. International Male Jon Hamm sat with his girlfriend, Jennifer Westfeldt, while James Corden got a kiss from his girlfriend as he won the Comedian prize. Daisy Lowe chatted with her ex Mark Ronson and also posed proudly with her new man Matt Smith, who was named Actor of the Year. While, Most Stylish Man Aaron Johnson had Sam Taylor-Wood by his side at the ceremony.
The Tamara Drewe premiere took place in Leicester Square on Monday night. Newlywed Gemma Arterton looked gorgeous in her strapless cream gown with an almost makeup-free face as she signed autographs and was interviewed. She gave co-star Dominic Cooper a big hug as they posed for photos, and later director Stephen Frears had to come out of the cinema to drag him inside so they could start the film. Lily Allen showed off her growing baby bump on the red carpet and signed autographs, missing an Elle party to support her producer mum's movie. Lily warmed up in a velvet coat and continued her family fun week after launching her pop-up store with her sister, to pose for photos with her mother. Dominic hung out with his equally gorgeous co-star Luke Evans during the evening. Then, after the screening, the stars all headed off to the afterparty. Gemma changed from her cream frock into a black jumpsuit, and Gossip Girl's Ed Westwick was spotted leaving the party too!
Leonardo DiCaprio greeted a mob of fans at the London premiere of Inception yesterday. The actor signed autographs and cosied up to costars Ellen Page and Marion Cotillard. Leo's hard at work promoting the movie and hopes people will be surprised by the highly anticipated and mysterious project, which is already getting some award season buzz. Leo's keeping his schedule full beyond the film's release—he's said to be in talks with Ridley Scott to star in a long-delayed big-screen version of The Wolf of Wall Street.
Between Twilight, The Vampire Diaries and the upcoming new season of True Blood, actors playing vampires are a dime a dozen these days. That said, the phenomenon probably means we can only expect to see more bloodsuckers on the big and small screens in the future. So far, plenty of actors have slipped easily into vampire roles, while other choices have been a little more questionable (Tom Cruise, I'm looking at you). Then there are the actors who have yet to try on a pair of fangs but could be perfect for the vamp world. Who are they, you ask? Introducing my list of actors who I think would make fang-tastic bloodsuckers. Enter at your own risk...
