We had plenty keeping us busy here in Australia, what with the Logies (well done, Asher!) and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia happening within 24 hours of each other, but there was lots going on overseas this week as well! Halle Berry displayed her teensy baby bump when she attended a film premiere in Buenos Aires, while Aussie beauty Miranda Kerr held the hand of her bub Flynn on a walk in Beverly Hills. Nicole Richie and Jessica Alba flaunted their fabulous figures while on a girls' trip to St. Barts, and Charlize Theron and Seth MacFarlane set tongues wagging when they left a restaurant together. It was a day of brotherly bonding for Chris and Luke Hemsworth in NYC today. Earlier in the day the Aussie actors strolled around SoHo with their respective wives, Elsa Pataky and Samantha, and then the group got all dressed up for the Oceana Ball held at Christie’s. The gala is a fundraising event that raises money to protect and restore the world’s oceans. Both couples have young children but it seems they were able to enjoy a night off from parenting duties.

Chris and Luke’s younger brother, Liam, wasn’t with them in NYC. Since returning to the US from his secret trip to Australia last month, the youngest Hemsworth has been spotted working out in LA. His engagement to Miley Cyrus has been under scrutiny the past few weeks with reports that they’d called their wedding off, but they seem to be working on their relationship even though it’s been a while since they attended an event together.

Chris Hemsworth wore a beanie and grey T-shirt as he touched down at LAX on Friday, and by Saturday he was reunited with his wife, Elsa Pataky, and their daughter, India. The trio grabbed breakfast in LA, and Chris planted a sweet kiss on India's cheek during the outing. He returned to the West Coast after reportedly filming reshoots for his latest project Thor: The Dark World in Washington DC last week.

Chris isn't the only Hemsworth who is apparently happy to be back in LA — his brother Liam has returned to the West Coast and his fiancée, Miley Cyrus, amid their rumoured relationship drama. The reports seem to be all but put to rest as Liam was spotted at Miley's LA home on Saturday, and she also shared a picture of herself sporting her engagement ring on Twitter over the weekend.

Chris Hemsworth, Elsa Pataky and their 10-month-old daughter India spent part of their Saturday shopping for Persian rugs in Santa Monica. The young family got back into their usual routine after enjoying an extended stay in Australia. Chris arrived in February for Foxtel’s 2013 programming launch (he’s their ambassador) and stayed on for a bit to catch up with family. His younger brother Liam Hemsworth was also here, on a rumoured break from his fiancée, Miley Cyrus — the two have been surrounded by split reports due to Liam’s Aussie holiday and Miley being spotted without her engagement ring. Since then Liam headed to the Philippines for a promotional appearance and Miley added to her body art collection with a new tattoo inked by Kat Von D.

The lead up to the Oscars (the show's on tomorrow!) is always a busy time for celebrities, and it seems like this week has been one of the most hectic yet! Between the Brit Awards on Wednesday night, a few movie premieres and screenings and a lot of pre-Oscars parties, we had a lot to keep up with! Miranda Kerr and her husband Orlando Bloom put an affectionate end to rumours about marriage problems, while another Aussie, Chris Hemsworth, brought his young family to Sydney for a quick work-related trip. Kate Middleton stepped out on royal duty, with a very special bump on board, and Rihanna celebrated her birthday with on-again boyfriend Chris Brown. Chris Hemsworth played tour guide when he walked around Sydney Harbour with his wife, Elsa Pataky, and their daughter, India, on Monday. They arrived from LA earlier in the morning. Chris did most of the heavy lifting, taking responsibility for two bags and little India, who enjoyed the view perched on a bag Chris slung around his shoulder. Elsa also took plenty of photos of India during the outing. Following their walk around Circular Quay they headed to Avalon, where Chris checked out surfboards and Elsa guided India through her steps. The family’s visit to Australia — their first time coming here together — ties in with Chris’ work commitments with Foxtel. Tonight he’ll be the special guest at Foxtel’s 2013 programming launch.

The trio stuck together in LA before a family flight to Australia — on Wednesday night Chris will be a special guest at a preview of Foxtel’s programming and innovation in 2013. The past few months have been family-oriented for the Hemsworths, with Chris, Elsa and India holidaying with Liam and Miley Cyrus in Costa Rica last month. It was a relaxing start to what will be a busy year for the brothers — Chris has two films out this year, Rush and Thor: The Dark World, and reportedly signed on for an untitled thriller with director Michael Mann, while Liam’s second Hunger Games instalment Catching Fire will be released in November.

Taylor Swift, Elsa Pataky and Rachel Zoe caught one of the last shows during Paris Fashion Week yesterday. The ladies braved the rain to see the Spring 2013 designs from Elie Saab head down the runway. The day before, Elsa and her daughter, India Hemsworth, were together in London. It seems Elsa hopped over to France for a stylish afternoon. Taylor has been in France for a few days along with her good friend Emma Stone, who stepped out for the star-studded Miu Miu show. Rachel, a designer herself, has been a fixture at both New York and Paris Fashion Week.

Wow, what a week! The beginning of September is always heaving with events, the smell of the new season in the air and enough fashion and film festivals to keep us plenty occupied — this time around was no exception.
