Beyoncé Knowles has been named the hottest woman of the century by US GQ magazine, and her photos and interview with the magazine for its February issue prove that she has earned that title. The singer posed for the cover of GQ in zippered underpants and a crop top, and in the magazine, Beyoncé got snapped by photographer Terry Richardson in more sexy looks and talked about her career. • Beyoncé on being powerful: "I now know that, yes, I am powerful. I'm more powerful than my mind can even digest and understand."
• On achieving her goals: "I worked so hard during my childhood to meet this goal: by the time I was 30 years old, I could do what I want. I've reached that. I feel very fortunate to be in that position. But I've sacrificed a lot of things, and I've worked harder than probably anyone I know, at least in the music industry. So I just have to remind myself that I deserve it."
• On needing her job: "I love my job, but it's more than that: I need it. Because before I gave birth, it was the only time in my life, all throughout my life, that I was lost."

Rihanna made an arrival in a tiny red number by Calvin Klein paired with Manolo Blahnik sandals, Diane Kruger showed off her fashion-forward style in a white cutout Cushnie et Ochs Spring dress, while Jenna Dewan stunned in a draped Amanda Wakeley dress and Christian Louboutin ankle-strap pumps. Inside last night's GQ Men of the Year party, celebs let loose at LA's Chateau Marmont. Rihanna, who celebrated being named the magazine's Obsession of the Year, made the rounds saying hi to guys like James Marsden, Frank Ocean and Jamie Foxx. She even posed for some silly photos with Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet. Eric seemed to be pretty popular at the bash, and also said cheese alongside Ali Larter and Rashida Jones. Revenge gang Emily VanCamp, Ashley Madekwe, Christa B. Allen, Connor Paolo and Joshua Bowman hung out too. Real-life couple Emily and Josh were too cute posing with another of their small-screen co-stars, Gabriel Mann. There were other fun celeb friendships blossoming. Aziz Ansari had a drink with Darren Criss, as James Marsden, Julianne Hough and Kate Walsh made the rounds. GQ hosted their Men of the Year party at LA's Chateau Marmont last night. Ben Affleck was on hand to celebrate his honor after a big year that's included the release of his hit movie Argo and the birth of his third child, a son named Samuel. Ben shared the honor with Channing Tatum, who today was also named People's Sexiest Man of the Year. Channing wasn't able to attend the bash, but he was represented by his wife, Jenna Dewan. Rihanna earned the magazine's title of Obsession of the Year, and she swung by the Chateau in a hot red dress from Calvin Klein. Also out to celebrate with GQ was a Cushnie et Ochs-clad Diane Kruger, and a whole group from Revenge that included a Reem Acra-wearing Emily VanCamp, Joshua Bowman, Christa B. Allen and Ashley Madekwe, who was in Australia last week to attend the Melbourne Cup.

The annual event brought out plenty of stars to toast Ben, Channing and Rihanna. Adam Brody, Chace Crawford, Max Greenfield — another of People's hottest men of 2012 — and Seth MacFarlane mingled together. Alessandra Ambrosio, in Sally LaPointe, celebrated a week after the Victoria's Secret show with her fellow Angel Erin Heatherton. Last night’s GQ Men of the Year Awards attracted some of Australia’s brightest stars to the Ivy Ballroom in Sydney. Veterans and newcomers of the entertainment industry gathered for the black tie gala to celebrate men — and one woman! — in different fields, with the highest honour, Man of the Year, going to Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth. Chris, who also fronts GQ’s December issue (on sale now), wasn’t able to pick up his award, but expressed his gratitude via video, saying, “GQ has been so supportive of me right from the beginning of my career and it’s an honour and a privilege to be acknowledged within their pages.”

Rising star Bella Heathcote was named Woman of the Year, and Callan McAuliffe, at age 17, is the magazine’s youngest winner, taking home Breakthrough of the Year. Other winners included Guy Sebastian for Solo Artist of the Year, Matt Moran for Chef of the Year, and Sam Sparro for Man of Style. The guest list was filled with actors such as Phoebe Tonkin, Jodi Gordon, Samara Weaving, Todd Lasance and Asher Keddie, models Jessica Gomes and Samantha Harris, as well as TV personalities Ruby Rose and Molly Meldrum, and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong.

Samara Weaving looks gorgeous in a new swimsuit spread featured in the October/November issue of GQ, on sale now with Daniel Craig on the cover. The Home and Away stunner was shot by Pierre Toussaint for the publication, and she opened up about how she adjusted to her new work life at such a young age, as well as what she looks for in a man. Her current relationship status is unclear after reports she split from co-star Axle Whitehead and buzz that she has since been seen “canoodling” with someone else, but when asked to describe her ideal guy she said, “It’s a little clichéd but it’s about making me laugh. It’s about being charming, intelligent . . . Personality is what it’s about . . . although, um, perhaps no trolls.”

Lara Bingle is used to being followed by cameras, now more than ever thanks to her reality show Being Lara Bingle, and it proved to be the inspiration for her sexy photo shoot in the new August/September issue of GQ with Keith Urban on the cover, on sale July 23. Lara stripped down to skin-baring ensembles and held a camera to herself as photographer Beau Grealy captured it all (it’s documented on tonight’s episode). She also told the publication about how she needs to switch off every now and then: “As much as it’s your life, it’s a job and I like to clock off at times and have other interests. During the week, the paparazzi are full on, but most Sundays I can pretty much run free and the paps don’t follow me too much at night.” At the same time, the swimsuit model understands that she goes through completely different things to other girls her age, saying, “Yes, I live differently to a normal 24-year-old, but I’ve been given this life and just have to run with it. I’m not saving the world. I am a model.”
