It was a rainy green faux grass carpet for last night's seventh annual Global Green Pre-Oscars Party at Avalon in LA, which meant that many of the stars rushed in to keep from getting wet. Jessica Alba in a Viktor and Rolf dress and Cash Warren huddled close under their umbrella, only stopping to take a couple of photos, while Joel Madden and Benji Madden avoided the carpet almost entirely on their way in to provide the evening's entertainment. James Cameron, whose Avatar is up for a bunch of awards at Monday's Oscars and is touted for its environmental message, took cover under an enormous umbrella to grant a few interviews on his way into the bash. The inclement weather expected this weekend may mean another rainy red carpet for the Academy Awards, something the stars are used to this award season after the downpour at the Golden Globes.

Leonardo DiCaprio was in the front row last night to watch as the Lakers took on the Denver Nuggets in LA. He was fresh off a Saturday night of partying with Victoria Beckham, Salma Hayek and Gwen Stefani, but Leo had even more to celebrate as Shutter Island scored its second weekend at the top of the US box office. Jessica Alba, meanwhile, enjoyed another basketball game with her brother after a day at the park with Honor. Justin Bieber, who turned 16 on Monday, got an early present and had a surprise meeting with star Laker player Kobe Bryant!

Jessica Alba and Cash Warren had the same idea as Jay-Z and Beyonce, sharing their date night at a basketball game yesterday. Jess and Cash were courtside in LA to watch the Clippers defeat the Detroit Pistons. Jess also shared a few laughs with fellow attendee Kid Rock and they even posed for a photo together. The actress has been spending lots of time with her daughter Honor and enjoying board games with friends while on a short break in her busy schedule since her Valentine's Day promotional duties are done.

After nine weeks at number one, Avatar was finally knocked from the top spot at the box office by a boatload of stars in a sappy rom-com. You've heard all the cliches before: that Valentine's Day is more about commercialism than love, that it was created by Hallmark and so on. With that in mind, I can't say I was surprised to see that Hollywood finally decided to capitalise on the holiday hubbub with a romantic comedy that's brimming with stars—but unfortunately the film provides even more proof for the argument that the holiday is for suckers.
Valentine's Day has star power at every turn, chronicling the lives of a slew of people as they navigate through the "most romantic day of the year." Jennifer Garner and Ashton Kutcher are at the epicenter as best friends Julia and Reed and their tangled web of social contacts and random people they bump into extends (but isn't limited to) Jessica Biel, Anne Hathaway, Patrick Dempsey, Eric Dane, Bradley Cooper, Jamie Foxx, Taylor Lautner, Julia Roberts and Jessica Alba. There are more celebrities in the film than you can remember and the sad part is that most of their onscreen counterparts are forgettable.
