Sure, male celebrities can be hilarious — but this week we couldn't stop laughing out loud at some of the tweets sent out by female celebrities. From Chrissy Teigen's no-holds-barred observation of January Jones, to Olivia Wilde's funny and sweet pregnancy confirmation and Megan Washington's mini meltdown, there was no end to the entertainment we garnered from the women in this gallery. Australian rapper Iggy Azalea made us cringe with her Twitter tale, singer Pink defended her sweet little family, Jesinta Campbell got back to work after a day at the races yesterday. . . And there's so much more! Click through now to read this week's best celebrity tweets.
This week in the world of social media, celebrities kept busy sharing their personal pictures from just about every location you can think of. Lara Bingle took a fresh-faced selfie on a plane (and has never looked better, we might add), while Miranda Kerr jumped for joy during a visit to Sydney's Balmoral beach. Ricki-Lee Coulter had a New York moment in a yellow taxi, Delta Goodrem and Renee Bargh hung out together in Los Angeles and Johnny Ruffo copped a seriously unimpressed look from his co-star Samara Weaving. Stealing the spotlight from them all? Fifi Box, who shared an adorable picture of her week-old baby daughter Beatrix. Cute? You betcha. Click through to see all these pics and more!
This week in the world of social media, we caught up with our favourite snap-happy stars during their moments of work and play. Isabelle Cornish and her friend and co-star Charlotte Best shared a laugh as they took selfies ahead of the AACTA Awards on Wednesday night. Ricki-Lee Coulter hit Japan for a promotional tour and spent some time signing autographs for fans, while Reece Mastin treated his "lil' rocker" fans to an up-close-and-personal shot of his face. Models Miranda Kerr and Chrissy Teigen both hit the beach this week and shared photos of themselves in sexy bikinis, and cute friends Phoebe Tonkin and Teresa Palmer looked closer than ever at Teresa's movie premiere.
Johnny Ruffo, the singing, dancing and presenting Aussie superstar in the making, will soon be relocating to Summer Bay — as in, becoming a bona fide Home and Away cast member! The West Australian has been slated to star in 16 episodes of the popular soap, and has apparently already started filming. It's just another notch in this quadruple-threat's entertainment belt — he placed third in 2011's The X Factor Australia, won Dancing With The Stars earlier this year, has released two singles and presents segments on The X Factor. Now, with the Home and Away gig taking precedence, it looks like Johnny will be busier than ever! We can't wait wait to check out his acting skills — congrats, Johnny!
A slew of fashionable locals hit The Water Bar at Blue Hotel, Woolloomoloo on Thursday night to celebrate the first birthday of Australian fashion and footwear store, The Iconic. Gorgeous girls Nikki Phillips, Jesinta Campbell, Zoe Balbi and Jessica Mauboy were joined by equally cool guys Guy Sebastian, Johnny Ruffo, Firass Dirani and more. Guy performed, as did Cheyenne Tozzi, but the things that got guests talking the most? The amazing cake — three The Iconic boxes stacked atop one another — by Planet Cake, and amazing outfits, styled by The Iconic, of course. The Hordern Pavillion in Sydney got a huge dose of star power and green goo at the inaugural Slimefest event on Saturday. A mix of musicians and TV personalities subjected themselves to being slimed in front of a crowd of more than 3,000 excited fans, including Charlotte Dawson in her first public appearance since being hospitalised after vicious social media attacks. The issue of trolling in recent weeks even caused the celebrities to band together for a new 'Dare to be Square' campaign, which calls for more positivity on social media. Energetic performances came from the likes of Reece Mastin, Guy Sebastian, Johnny Ruffo, Jessica Mauboy and Justice Crew, while other names who got covered in slime included Rachael Finch, newlywed Brian McFadden, and Commando and Tiffiny Hall from The Biggest Loser. The event also set a new Guinness World Record for the most people slimed simultaneously over the two music shows.
In the first part of our interview with Johnny Ruffo from yesterday morning, we covered his new single “On Top” and highlights from Dancing With the Stars, which he won on Sunday night. In the second part of our chat, we discussed what it was like to tour with One Direction (and who his favourite member is), girls and his celebrity crushes, and we got him up to speed with all the judging panel changes to the US version of The X Factor. Another thing we learnt: what he likes to do when he does get spare time.
What was your reaction to being asked to support One Direction in Australia?
When I was asked to do the tour for One Direction I was like, “I would love to do that. It would be an absolutely amazing experience.” The opportunity was so incredible. It was so surreal. Being able to tour with them was so fantastic because every time we do a support, 90 percent of the time not everybody in the audience knows who you are, and it’s a good chance for you to gain fans. Every time I do support I really try and put on the best show I can. And touring with One Direction was crazy because they have got some crazy fans! [Laughs]
What was it like to work with them?
Getting to know them was awesome. I was lucky to hang out with them quite a bit. I spent the most time with Niall — he’s definitely my favourite [laughs]. He’s just a really cool guy. We managed to have a couple of drinks together. We flew around a lot together, so Niall and I sat together for most of our flights. He’s a funny, good guy.

What a difference a year has made for Johnny Ruffo. The former concreter from Perth auditioned for The X Factor last year and made it to the top three, missing out on a top two spot behind Reece Mastin and Andrew Wishart. Now he has a recording contract with Sony Music and a shiny mirror ball trophy from winning Dancing With the Stars on Sunday night after months of ballroom dancing. His new single, “On Top,” has just been released, so we caught up with Johnny this morning to find out how he fits everything into his day and what we can expect from his upcoming album.
How would you describe the last 12 months of your life?
The last 12 months of my life have been incredible and unbelievable. It’s so surreal — everything’s changed, and the amount I’ve achieved in the last 12 months is ridiculous. If somebody told me 12 months ago, “This is what you’re going to achieve,” I would’ve been like, “No way.”
A year ago The X Factor hadn’t even started. You didn’t win, but it hasn’t hindered your rise since . . .
Being on The X Factor was a platform. It’s given me an opportunity and I’ve run with it. I’ve worked really, really hard and I’ve been lucky to make something out of it.

Last night the dance floor belonged to Johnny Ruffo when he was announced as the 2012 winner of Dancing With the Stars. The singer and his dance partner Luda Kroitor took out the title over musician — and Russell Crowe’s wife — Danielle Spencer and her partner Damian Whitewood. Johnny and Luda’s victory came after a night of three dances: a foxtrot, a sudden death cha-cha (which knocked Packed to the Rafters actress Zoe Cramond out of the competition) and a freestyle dance that earned them a perfect score of 30.
Johnny didn’t expect to win the mirror ball trophy, saying, “I said I’d be stoked if we made it to week five.” Over the past few months the money he’s raised from the public vote has gone to Youth Off the Streets. The DWTS win comes after a huge first six months for Johnny, who placed third in The X Factor last year, which includes touring with One Direction, being named Cleo Bachelor of the Year runner-up, and releasing his new single, “On Top,” last week.
Congrats to Johnny and Luda!
