There was plenty of action on and off the racecourse yesterday at the 2013 Jeep Magic Millions Raceday, held at the Gold Coast Turf Club. On the field, Gai Waterhouse's horse Sweet Idea was outrun, but off the field, it was Gai's daughter Kate winning in the style stakes. Wearing a bright and colurful Peter Pilotto dress, with a matching headpiece by Neil Grigg, Kate Waterhouse hit the event with husband Luke Ricketson, where they were joined by model Samantha Harris, presenter Jesinta Campbell, rugby player Quade Cooper and many more. The guest of honour for the event was British royal, Zara Phillips, who has a keen interest in all things horses — she won a silver medal in equestrian eventing at the 2012 London Olympic Games. To say it's been a big week might be a bit of an understatement. The 2012 ARIA Awards dominated the Aussie celebrity scene on Thursday night, with the likes of Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Russell Brand and many more turning up to celebrate our music industry's night of nights. Overseas, Katy Perry was a busy girl, first making an appearance at the UNICEF Snowflake charity ball with Selena Gomez, before being given a big honour at the Billboard Women in Music lunch. Miranda Kerr took her little guy Flynn everywhere with her this week (obviously looking uber-stylish, always) and Kate and Wills reminded us that, yes, they are still one of the cutest couples in the world. If there was anywhere in Sydney to be last night, it was Ivy. The Justin Hemmes-owned club in Sydney's CBD was teeming with stars and excited members of the public alike as they welcomed the Pacha nightclub franchise to town. Pacha, which is famous for the huge parties it throws in Ibiza, put on a brilliant show for guests, with trapeze artists, high-rope performers and mascots dressed up Carnivàle style. Guests like Kate Waterhouse and husband Luke Ricketson, Mel B and husband Stephen Belafonte, Nathan Jolliffe, Samara Weaving, Charlotte Dawson and Firass Dirani were treated to an exclusive dinner at Felix before the party started. The Spring carnival is well and truly off and racing, with a well-dressed celebrity contingent turning up at Royal Randwick on Saturday for the Super Saturday Espsom Day Cup. We took the opportunity to ask two of the best-dressed trackside celebs for their trackside style tips. The Voice's Emma-Louise Birdsall and Benji Marshall's better half Zoe Balbi were gracious enough to share everything from what they were wearing, to their race day do's and don'ts, to the contents of their clutch bags.

Zoe Balbi: Tell us about what your wearing? Today I’m wearing a gorgeous, custom-made Nerida Winter headpiece and a Steven Khalil dress.
Top trends that you’ve spotted on the field? I’ve noticed loads of peplums, neutral tones and touches of lace.
Dress codes are important at the races , what are your top three rules to abide by? Length (knee length), be well-groomed and be playful!
Emma-Louise Birdsall: Tell us about your outfit today.. My dress is by Collette Dinnigan, my hat is by Neil Grigg and my shoes were a hidden gem from the back of my closet!
Any no-nos fashion wise for the races? Be comfortable in your outfit and avoid wearing uncomfortable shoes!
What do you carry in your handbag for a day at the races? My bag contains lipstick, powder for touch-ups, a betting guide book with hot tips from my family.

Despite the rainy weather yesterday Royal Randwick was the place to be, with many Aussie celebrities getting glam for a day out on the horses for the Epsom Day Cup. Glenn McGrath and his wife Sara Leonardi-McGrath joined racing royalty Kate Waterhouse and her husband Luke Ricketson, while Aussie glamours Terry Biviano, Kate Ritchie and Zoe Balbi all upped the style stakes. Miranda Kerr was front and centre on the runway during last night’s David Jones fashion launch at the Elizabeth Street store in Sydney, and plenty of Australia’s biggest stars turned out to see her in action. The front row was awash with glamorous couples, including Jodi Gordon and Braith Anasta, Terry Biviano and Anthony Minichiello, and recently-married Kate Waterhouse and Luke Ricketson, who were all seated next to each other. Lara Bingle kept her style low-key, but still sexy, in a black dress with sheer panels, and while Kyly Clarke, the wife of her ex-fiancé Michael Clarke, was also there, the two apparently didn’t cross paths. Swimwear designer and David Jones ambassador Megan Gale looked statuesque in a floral strapless dress, Everybody Dance Now dance master Kelly Rowland made a surprise appearance, and models Montana Cox, Samantha Harris and Jessica Gomes managed to fit in a quick photo on the media wall before joining Miranda on the catwalk.

Kate Waterhouse and Luke Ricketson got married in Taormina, Sicily yesterday! The couple, who had been dating for five years, tied the knot in front of an intimate group of family and friends, including Kate's parents, Rob and Gai, brother Tom and his wife Hoda, and some of Luke's former Roosters teammates. Kate's Vera Wang wedding dress had a chiffon halter neck and satin skirt, while Luke suited up in blue. Kate told the Sydney Morning Herald ahead of her nuptials, "I can't believe it's finally the wedding day! I'm so excited, I feel like I'm the luckiest girl in the world to marry Luke. He is everything and more I would want in a man and to have family and friends share our special day in such a beautiful setting is a dream come true." It was during her brother Tom's week-long wedding celebrations in July last year — he married Hoda, who was one of Kate's bridesmaids, in the same town — that Luke proposed to Kate. The newlyweds have plans to honeymoon through Europe. Congrats to the happy, stunning couple!

What a beautiful start to a Friday! This morning we were treated with these gorgeous photographs from Kate Waterhouse and Luke Ricketson's Italian wedding in Taormina. The ever-stylish Sun Herald fashion editor wed her long term love in front of 80 guests in the small seaside town last night, the same family holiday destination where Kate's brother Tom married now wife Hoda last year. Now — on to the important details — the dress! According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Kate went with international designer Vera Wang (who incidentally just opened her first Australian store) for her big day. Kate foroged the meringue-effect, opting for a slim-lined, tulle-halter style gown with a bias-cut satin skirt; cutting an elegant silhouette as she walked down the Sicilian cobblestoned streets. A full tulle veil provided dramatic effect, as did her beautiful choice of deco-style diamond jewellery — floral motif, small-drop earrings, a coordinating tennis bracelet and of course her stunning engagement ring. Her bridesmaids, who included Sally Salter, her sister-in-law Hoda, Britt Hume, Belinda Williams, and Andrea Heinrich looked just as stylish, wearing one-shouldered, draped dresses by local designer Carla Zampatti.
