The annual CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute event, which honours those making differences in their communities and around the globe, filled LA's Shrine Auditorium with plenty of stars yesterday. Emma Roberts was on hand to present in a short black Maria Lucia Hohan dress, while Sofia Vergara chose dark hued Dolce & Gabbana and Brooklyn Decker went with a metallic Christian Dior number. Miley Cyrus, who performed “The Climb,” arrived in a revealing yellow Roberto Cavalli gown with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth by her side. They weren't the only famous faces to show their support at the event since AnnaLynne McCord, Mary-Louise Parker, Christy Turlington, and others also came out for the show. CNN's own Anderson Cooper has since returned to NYC, but did his part by hosting the evening and wowing a few celebrities like Emma, who twittered that meeting him backstage was a dream come true.
Hollywood Stars Get Glamorous at BAFTA Brits to Watch Gala
It was a star-studded Saturday night in LA at the BAFTA Brits to Watch event! Prince William and Kate Middleton, in Alexander McQueen, arrived at the BAFTA dinner looking gorgeous as they made their entrance alongside CEO Amanda Berry. The red carpet was full of other famous faces though with Hollywood's finest coming out for the reception. Jennifer Garner got glamorous in a navy one-shoulder gown while Jennifer Lopez wowed in a cut out green number. Blake Lively was radiant in bright, sheer look and Nicole Kidman dazzled in sequinned blue. The BAFTA event's host, Cat Deeley, expressed her excitement about meeting Kate for the first time since she's already been introduced to Prince William. Also on hand for the evening were Tom Hanks, who celebrated his 55th birthday, his wife Rita Wilson, Elizabeth Banks, Jason Bateman, Mary-Lousie Parker, Mad Men's Elisabeth Moss and Ed Westwick.
Carey Celebrates Her New Role at a Fashionable Bash With Gossip Girls and Olsens
Starlets convened in NYC last night for the annual CFDA Fashion Fund Awards. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen stuck with their black routine to pose at the event, and Blake Lively had a similar thought in her lace dress. Her Gossip Girl buddies like Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick also turned out. Carey Mulligan was decked out in sequins to celebrate the good news that she's been cast as Daisy in the upcoming remake of The Great Gatsby, a role Blake was also in the running for. The actors were all on hand to see which designer would take home the organisation's grand prize, and Billy Reid was the winner, followed by runners-up Eddie Borgo and Prabal Gurung.
Heidi and Seal Go From Halloween Parties to a Charitable Night
Heidi Klum and Seal were together in NYC last night to host a benefit for the Worldwide Orphans Foundation, and they playfully posed with the organisation's founder, Dr. Jane Aronson, on the red carpet. Heidi and Seal were in philanthropic mode after joining the many celebrity partiers on Halloween. Heidi told Pop US that she was comfortable in her crazy get-up despite being eight feet tall, saying, "I loved it!" Hugh Jackman and his wife, Deborra-lee Furness, also came out for the bash, and he spoke about his time trick-or-treating on Sunday. He said things got wild, but as he headed home someone stopped him to say, "That's the best Hugh Jackman costume I've ever seen!" Other attendees included Andrew Garfield, Mary-Louise Parker and Rosie O'Donnell.
Julia and Meryl Lead Hollywood's Finest in Toasting Mike Nichols
Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep were among those who dressed up Thursday night to honour the career of legendary director Mike Nichols. The women were joined by stars from many of Mike's famous films like Dustin Hoffman, who starred in The Graduate, Emma Thompson, Natalie Portman and Tom Hanks. Julia took the stage to toast Mike, saying, "Mike is one of the few people in the world who's an 'EGOT'—it means he's won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony." She mingled with Oprah Winfrey afterward to catch up since their last chat about Eat, Pray, Love. Harrison Ford also shared kind words about Mike, but he spent most of the evening cuddling up to longtime love Calista Flockhart. The evening was notable for another reason—John Goodman showed off his dramatic weight loss and he made the rounds chatting with Hollywood veterans like Jack Nicholson and Warren Beatty.
TV Watch: Weeds Says "Yes We Cannabis" to Season Five
I admit I tapered off Weeds a bit toward the end of season four, when Nancy's now-very-serious drug dealing got to be a bit too much. (Where was my iced coffee and my satirical suburbia?) But that doesn't mean I'm not curious to see what new twists and turns the Weeds folks have cooked up for us for season five. The new season premieres tonight on GO! and Jennifer Jason Leigh hops on board for part of the season as Nancy's estranged sister. Will you be watching? To check out the US promo, keep reading.
Aussie Casting News on Eric, Guy and Joel

It’s been a busy week for Aussie actors—Sam Worthington has been lining up a boatload of projects and there is also casting news regarding Eric Bana, Guy Pearce and Joel Edgerton. Eric is heading back to action movie territory and is in talks to star opposite Saoirse Ronan (The Lovely Bones) in Hanna, a tale about a teenage assassin. (We knew she was trouble as soon as we saw her in Atonement). Eric will play her father, who teaches her to become a cold blooded killing machine.
Meanwhile, Guy Pearce and Mary-Louise Parker (our favourite pot-dealing mum from Weeds!) are set to star in a psychological thriller called The Well. The film is being developed by Philip Seymour Hoffman’s production company and the storyline is still under wraps, but involves “a well-to-do Manhattan couple whose obsessive pursuit of salvation ultimately leads to destruction.”
And last but not least, Joel Edgerton will star in a prequel to John Carpenter’s classic horror movie The Thing. Joel will play a blue-collar mercenary helicopter pilot who helps stop the rampage when a trapped organism in Antarctica is freed and begins a series of attacks. The movie starts shooting in Toronto on March 15th. It's great to see so many Aussies getting work. Which film are you most excited about?

2009 Primetime Emmy Awards: Mary-Louise Parker
Will tonight be Mary-Louise's night? She's up for an Emmy for her role on Weeds, and for her look this evening, the actress keeps it real on the red carpet. We already know the actress has got one super hot body, but when it comes to her hair and makeup, is this tousled updo and slightly smoky eye equally hot? Tell us what you think.
